TweetHey thats a good question!!!!! Wonder why it hasnt been asked more often!???
TweetLike a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me.
I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit.
In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test with which I have no problem.
What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people
who don't have to pass a urine test.
Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them?
Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their ass, doing drugs, while I work.
Can you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?
I Guess we could title that program, 'Urine or You're Out'..

Tweetfit just work harder millions of crack heads on unemployment and welfare are counting on you.

TweetI've seen this arguement before, and my first thought is that the ACLU and AL Sharpton would jump on this like white on rice. Imagine the uproar if our own government proposed "discriminatory" policies that "target" the disadvantaged black population? It would be framed as a violation of civil rights and . . . what a mess it would be.
As much as I think drug testing would be a good requirement (as an abstract idea) for recipients of government assistance, it will never happen.
Tweetwhile we are at it I'm for state impossed birth control on anyone on welfare
TweetThis would be for all those applying for welfare, white, black, orange, yellow. Where did it sound discriminatory?
Tweetwell i've been waiting for my check since the man got in office. no check, still have to work and i know my tax money isn't coming back. this sucks

TweetI didn't say I thought this idea is discriminatory, but I am certain that the policy would be attacked as such. First, minority advocates (like Al and Jesse) would point out the fact that a mostly white government is imposing an inherently discriminatory policy because it largely affects minorities. IT is not a stretch to see them teaming with the ACLU to publicly proclaim the testing policy both racist and also a violation of privacy - and that the imposition of the policy would be framed as a violation of civil rights. Tell me who wants a piece of that? The intent of a testing policy would be forgotten as soon as the reverends took their places at center stage in front of hundreds of cameras.
Tweeti know exactly where your coming from, but you could spin that as support for drug use! test white, black, brown, green....dont matter. we're disgriminating against drug use, not color

Don't think this would ever happen. I don't know how they could make anyone take Birth Control.

TweetThe birth control issue would be solved just by having them sign that they realize if they have any more children, there will be no additional govt benefits. Take the monetary incentive out of popping out kids and that problem gets reduced dramatically.
As far as the urine question, its a good one. Testify is right, the ACLU and gang would be all over it.
