I HAD A BROTHER THAT PASSED AWAY WHEN I WAS 10, HE WAS 17....HE WAS, AND WILL ALWAYS BE MY HERO. HE WOULD TAKE ME ALMOST EVERYWHERE HE WENT, AND IF HIS FRIENDS GAVE HIM FLACK ABOUT IT, HE WOULD TELL THEM TO GET LOST, AND THET'D CHANGE THEIR WHOLE ATTITUDE...IT WAS PRETTY COOL

YEA...I COULD SEE THAT WOULD BE A PROB. GLAD YOU PULLED YOURSELF OUT.
OBVIOUSLY, I DIDNT HAVE THAT PROB. HE SMOKED A LITTLE POT HERE AND THERE, BUT THAT WAS IT.
ONE TIME, I GRABBED THE BAG OF JOINTS A FRIEND OF HIS WAS SHOWING HIM ALONG WITH ABOUT 50$ IN SINGLES...HIS FREIND FREAKED OUT AND CHASED ME AROUND THE HOUSE. I WAS GRABBING OUT JOINTS ONE AT A TIME THROWING THEM, AND HE'D STOP TO GRAB THEM. MY BRO. WAS LAUGHING HIS ASS OFF WATCHING. I HID DOLLAR BILLS ALL OVER THE HOUSE. HE FINALLY CAUGHT ME, AND WAS GONNA SMACK ME AND MY BRO GRABBED HIM AND TOLD HIM HE'D BREAK HIS ARM. FUNNY THING IS, FOR THE NEXT FEW YEARS, EVERY ONCE IN AWHILE, I WOULD FIND A CROMPLED UP DOLLAR BILL!! LOL..I GOT A MILLION STORIES LIKE THAT WITH US!

family wise, i'd have to say my dad. being that i don't live at home now, we got along fairly well. i mean, we always did, he was just a lil short tempered sometimes....never to the point of abuse or anything, just huffin and puffin alot, easily frustrated. but he is the man, anything that needed to be done around the house from fixing the AC to building a deck (2 actually) to building a fence, or helping a neighbor put up a deck or fence, lol. he is willing to drop whatever he's doing to help someone else, far from selfish. wish i could be more like him actually. where as he is/was always the handyman around the house, shit, when i'm older and have afamily, i'll either have him come over and do it or hire someone to do it,lol. but he's an awesome guy, and definitly a hard ass worker.

I'd have to say my stepdad. He married my mom when she had two boys. We were 5 and 3. We gave him such a hard time. We didn't want to call him dad and we didn't want him to be dad. Then, when I was 8 he moved us to Georgia and things only got worse. We really hated him then. But, no matter how bad we treated him he was always there for us. He busted his ass to keep my mom at home, food on the table and a roof over our heads. It wasn't until I became a teenager that I began to somewhat appreciate him. Then, as I got older and more aware of just how hard he worked to provide for us he got more of my approval. It wasn't until I got arrested once and he was their for me immediately on the spot that I realized I'd been a dick for no reason. As the years went by, I realized just how much of a man he was. He taught me my work ethic. I've never seen a man work like him in my life. Once I quit resenting him I began to learn a lot from him. he was my best man at my wedding because no matter what I did, or what I said, he was ALWAYS there for me. Today, he is one of my best friends.

The funny thing is, he looks at how my life is today and tells me all the time he wants to be like me. I don't think there's ever a more rewarding moment in a man's life than the day he get's the old 'good job son, I'm really proud of you' speech.

My grandfather. He came to America from Lithuania as a child and his family was very poor. He used to tell me stories about stealing coal from the mines so they'd have heat for the winter. He dropped out of school (don't remember how early but it was pre highschool age) to get a job and help support the family while his dad was in prison for bootlegging. He educated himself, became a contractor owned and operated a couple of motels up north then moved down here and opened up the Fitzgerald Colored Nursing Home in the mid 60's cause the blacks down here had no where to go. Image being a Yankee Catholic opening up a "nigger nursing home" in south Ga. in the 60's, but he made it work! He was a very intelligent hard working man with a heart bigger than most countries.

My heroes are my parents. They grew up in the poorest country of the western hemisphere. They busted their asses and saved enough money to move to Europe to have a better way of life. After having my sister and I, they realized Europe wasn't the place to be so they moved to the USA so that my sister and I can grow up better than they did and get an education they never had the opportunity to get.

wow, some pretty good stories, guys! ...

I would say my mom for the simple fact she raised 3 kids on her own and we all turned out pretty damn good considering we had nothing and she worked to put food on the table. We were brought up to speak our mind and to not hold our feelings in....I have personal issues with my mother that I will not get into here, but I still love her for what she did AND didn't teach me (I was forced to learn somethings on my own)

      .....then along came Snickers!

I wish somebody in my family were my hero. Merc, you're lucky to have such an outstanding grandfather.
