thank you quirky for clearing that up. Oh and dave just had to try and get some shit in like the view does. does anyone notice now that rasmussen,galluo,zogby all the imprtant polls showing mccain gaining and is in the error of margin.let me also educate peole on polls I have posted this already but one more time for snicks. rasmussen has it even on there website that they poll more democrats the rep.and also the others.thats a fact. so if you really take that 4% to 7% more dems mccain is leading. those are fact numbers.

anyway you said obama could not pull those ratings. well i took your advice and did some real research i went to the neilson media group site. when obama appeared on the show he pulled a 4.1 rating.

i dunno you tell me, i just pulled up the Neilson ratings and they are the ones that do the ratings and it said was Obama pulled a 4.1 share the night he appeared , and did not require a big stink before he appeared.

So when McCain did show, it created more of a stir as Letterman (which god only knows why people still watch him - is he really relevant?) behaved like a shunned child about the first no show - regardless of the situation. I find it funny that in the TV arena, when a big stink was made about Oprah not having Palin on, you didnt hear the McCain camp whining about it when the semi- tables were turned. Yet she had on Obama. Simple truth is,the neilsen rating, as most rating are not reflective of what folks are watching and the reality is that TV stars endorse who they want to endorse - just like news anchors. Used to be, you were shunned from endorsing any political candidate. Dan Rather paved the way for the bias in the media and news outlets along with big media, allowed it. If you base your opinion on who to vote for because a celebrity likes him or her, you have no right to vote cuz you are a moron.

Sen. John McCain’s appearance on CBS’ “Late Show With David Letterman” last night delivered the show’s largest audience since December 2005, according to preliminary Nielsen live plus same day ratings.

The appearance attracted 6.53 million viewers and posted a 4.6 rating/12 share, the show’s best viewer and household numbers since Oprah Winfrey visited “Letterman” on Dec. 1, 2005, CBS said in a statement.

Sen. McCain’s appearance also delivered the program’s best adults 18-49 numbers (1.7) since its first broadcast after the Writers Guild of America granted it a waiver during the writers strike. Last night’s episode drew a 1.2 rating in adults 18-34 and a 2.3 in adults 25-54.

The episode bested NBC’s “The Tonight Show” by 44% in households and 1.96 million viewers

NEW YORK -- "Late Show With David Letterman" soared Wednesday with appearances by Sen. Barack Obama and Cleveland Cavaliers player LeBron James.

"Late Show" averaged a 4.1 rating/10 share in the Nielsen Media Research metered markets, the second-highest rating the show has received all year. Wednesday night's show managed to do the often out of reach, which was to beat late-night king Jay Leno and "The Tonight Show." But it wasn't by much, as Leno averaged a 3.9/10.

It was the fourth time this season that "Late Show" has beaten "Tonight." Much more common is a race for second place between "Nightline" and "Late Show." The CBS show beat "Nightline" (3.0/7) and "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (1.3/4) on Wednesday.

Obama's Letterman appearance had a little impact on the "Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson," which averaged a 1.9/7 in the metered markets compared with "Late Night With Conan O'Brien" (1.8/6).
