TweetNot quite sure on that one. I can say that the Chinese people seem to idolize their participants more than other countries. We Americans dont seem to support our champions as much as we used to. I mean really, take a poll, can you name 5 Olympians? Reminds me alot of the way we treat our military these days. Used to be we supported our boys across the board, mourned losses together, celebrated their homecomings and didnt question their choice to be put in harms way......Ok - so totally off topic....sorry
TweetIn girls gymnastics....absolutely! In diving, not at all. The thing I noticed over and over was that the Chinese girls in gymnastics would make just as many, if not more, mistakes than the Americans and get deducted a half point. Then, an American would get deducted a full point for the same or less msitakes. The announcers and the former guy that used to coach them pointed out numerous juding mistakes that were all in China's favor. Like the vault where the Chinese girl didn't hit the vault right (which is a major technique deduction) and landed on her knees and still got a medal. Her deduction was not correct for her mistakes.
Some other things I noticed in these olympics was that when Cuba was a judge, then were very tough on Russia....hmmm....I wonder why. There is so many politics in the Olympics it is sad. It's no longer about who is actually best. Atleast five times I remember watching the American girls get vidoe reviewed before their scores were put up in gymnastics but China never got reviewed once. It's like they were looking for ways to give the American girls deductions.

I LOVE BOOBOOKITTY...
TweetThat sucks, I haven't been watching them that close but that would be consistent with China's obsession about "looking good" in these Olympics.

Very interesting. The Washington Post also did an expose on how the Chinese government forced people off their land, out of their homes and businesses to make way for the Olympics. Gave them pennies on the Yen(?) because they wanted their city to look a certain way to the rest of the world. **** communists!
TweetI agree. The diving competition was honestly won by the Chinese. Jing Jing is an amazing diver. But every other competition, the Chinese recieved favorable scores. Especially from Cuba.
