TweetIt`s called Shochu (pronounced show-chew). It comes in at 25% alcohol meaning that 200ml would equal the alcohol punch of two 16 ounce beers at 5% alcohol. The main difference being that two 16 ounce beers have from 280-500+ calories depending on light/regluar/microbrew/etc while the same amount of shochu has 112 cal. no carbs no sugar only distilled alcohol calories.


So for all of you closet alki-haul-licks who want to diet down in the summer, let me recommend shochu. You`ll probably be able to find it at a large liquor store or at asian food stores.

Thats a good question. Basically it depends on what it was made from. I can`t stand the stuff made from wheat and barley but I LOVE the stuff made from rice or sweet potatos. Basically it`s a mild clear taste like vodka but not so strong.
