Is black history month racist?
TweetThere is no white history month, No asian history month, no latin history month, no native american history month. No eskimo american history month.... if you ask me it just promotes segregation.
I am not being racist, i just feel it is unnecessary. And if we insist on a black history month, then why not erase any black history that occurs outside of february.
Second rant---- FUBU... if white folks made a clothing line that was stated as specifically for white people... fwbw.. for whites by whites there would be a huge controversy..... It seems to me that racism can only occur white on black.

Yes FUBU is stupid and hopefully our society will move beyond this crap because IMO it just perpetuates a feeling of inequality in the black community. We need to get rid of all segregrated crap so that society can continue to evolve as a desgregated institution. But it is a private clothing line and ultimately a business and I gather a rather good name for sales....

Tweeti think most minorities think that the other 11months are white history month... the fubu thing is stupid, but no one is forcing you to buy it. i think the biggest problem is affirmative action in the work place. my gf was trying to be on her town's fire department... she took became an EMT to get extra qualifications and it also gives you an extra 5 points on the civil service exam. there was an african american who was not an EMT who got 5 points just for being a minority. i think thats kind of unfair. you take 2 PEOPLE, and 1 gets 5 more consideration points because of their skin color. so i believe that is racist. also, anyone can be racist to anyone... i had a friend who was the ONLY white kid in his neighborhood... and one of the only white kids in his whole school... so was he still the majority? or does he qualify as a minority at that point??

They pay TV icons to wear their cloths so young people are exposed to it, the young kids in turn go buy them.... the fad becomes old and a new cycle begins. Its messed up what advertisement does to young people, how some kids are hurt by it. I'm sure people of our age are saying this is nonsense, But have a bettter conept for reality then younger people. There is no ad-awareness provided for young kids so the advertising business takes full advantage of it, and why not there is money out there to be made off them.

Being white, you have no idea at all what it is like to be black in America. What blacks have endured historically in this country is absolutely shameful. That shameful history is not so far removed from today; the equal rights movement was only forty years ago. We still have people clinging to the Rebel flag as if it were something to be proud of – it’s a despicable symbol of hatred no different than the swastika.
We still have a very long way to go before anything is equal.
