TweetId wait a few yrs before starting a first cycle imo. Anavar is great for building strength, and muscle hardness, but is 17AA so it is still harsh on the liver, so taking something like milk thistle or Liv 52, which are supplements, and drinking plenty of water would be adviseble, and also run test with it. For a first cycle most ppl run testosterone cypionate or enathate for 10wks at 400-500mg/wk then running post cycle therapy (pct) two wks after.
TweetI say give it a shot to see how well your body responds, but don't expect more than 6-8 lbs imo. After this one you can decide if you want to run some test. Or just get some test and run it alone at 500mg a wk for 10 wks.

TweetThat is true. I just hate to see someone use a Var only cycle and not get much in gains, just some strength, as it is kinda expensive. It would be soo much better to use it with some test, even if its a low dosage of 300-400mg/wk.
TweetI hear strength gains are pretty good w/ var, weight gain will be extremely mild. I think 6-8 lbs is a stretch too. Although i never ran var , you can run it alone just fine (other bros have). You should see a body fat decrease as long as your diet is on.

TweetOkay, I've run var at 40mg ED for 8 weeks. The gains were nominal but the muscle hardness and strength gains were significant - however - it's nothing like test and tren. If you're diet is clean and training is spot on then var will work. BUUUUUUUT.... Since this will be your first cycle, I'd stick to running just some test e/cyp at 300mg per week. Use your "virgin" receptors wisely on your first cycle. You're first will always be the best IMHO. It's all up hill from there. So, start off simple - like test. Save the var for some other time. My 2 cents.

You can always put the var in the freezer, it will last for yrs there and will still be good if you should ever want to use it later.
