This has been my busiest year in probably 5-10 years. I have been really working to sell my house, hitting the gym, trying to eat right by weighing out my food and hitting macros, golf lessons, swim lessons, working more than usual, (life) etc.....And I guess all of this is taking it's toll. This past weekend it's like all of the sudden my motivation just bottomed out. I just don't feel like doing anything at all. I was supposed to start a new martial arts class this week and I pushed it out because I didn't feel like I would be giving it a 100% commitment...and I LOVE martial arts. That is usually what fires me up.

Is this my body telling me that I need to take a break and reset or what?

You know, you are right. And I think the problem is that I don't want to let any of those things go and it has kind of got me down, you know?

So far I have taken this whole week off. I have eat what I want to, not gone to the gym, etc....just doing whatever I want. It is definitely helping!

Yeah, I think I'll cut my hobbies back and stick to the two things that I really love doing.

Are you teaching or receiving the lessons? Perhaps they can be seasonal activities, golf in summer, swimming in winter

Even though it may be fun stuff, if it takes too much time/effort it will quickly lose it's appeal. Everyone needs some down time to relax and recharge. Taking that week off should help.

I am busy as shot between work, family, home repairs, and fitness. Some days, I don't want to get out of bed....everyone gets burnt out.

Well, the "lessons" were for my step son and they lasted a few weeks each. It just all seemed to be hitting at once and it got to be too much. Between his stuff, my stuff, home projects, work (training classes and tests) ,etc....there was no down time. Now, those lessons are over, we are taking the house off the market at the end of this month (market sucks right now), my step son will be starting back to school, etc....it should get back to normal. This week has done wonders to be honest. I really could use another week of this but I am missing the gym and I'm not getting any leaner. Thanks for the replies

Sounds like it's all under control. Though you ruined the epiphanitical post I had ready to reveal to you in all it's glory. And that's a real word. Maybe.

It came out of your mouth didn't it? Haha! That line in the Verizon (I think) commercials is hilarious

yea man, every now and then I take basically a full week off. I try to do some active type of rest, but Im not lifting weights (walks, stadiums, bike ride, swim, yoga etc). It lets me recover physically and mentally. Its still hard for me to force myself to do it at times because I never did that in the past, I would just over train for too long which is not good at all.
