As anyone who’s seen any of Harmony Korine’s previous films (fromhis debut writing the screenplay for Kids to the aptly named TrashHumpers) knows, the indie filmmaker doesn’t exactly shy away from the seedierside of life. So when he revealed that his next movie would be about a group of collegegirls going onspring break and star a bunch of tween idols, you had to know the result wasn’texactly going to be family-friendly.Instead, Korine’s SpringBreakers is a gloriously trashy DayGlo ode to spring-break excess. A movie thatrevels in its own sleaziness, it mixes subversive art-house filmmaking with leering shotsof its four leading ladies -- one of whom is Korine’s real-life wife -- in bikinisand not much else.In Spring Breakers, Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens,Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine star as small-town college kids who’d do anything tofund their spring-break getaway -- including rob a local restaurant. Add in JamesFranco, with a grill and neck tattoos, as a drug dealer who takes the girls under hiswing and recruits them to be his bikini-wearing foot-soldiers, and you get a movie that'sa dirty old man’s dream and a parent’s worst nightmare. So with that in mind,we’re running down the five Future Daughter Nightmares on display in SpringBreakers. It’s enough to scare even the most lenient would-be parentstraight.
