    BY WAY OF INTRODUCTION: a few days ago we shared a sequence of videos from a 10 year old girl who participated on a powerlifting meet, coached by her father. We specifically asked the father whether she was healthy, if her grades were good and, most important, if the decision was 100% hers. Yes to all the questions. Watch this short video. The girl was interviewed (wow! someone actually cared to listen to what the child had to say!). We are aware of the controversies around potential dangers that early involvement in sports in general can have to kids. Maybe it is time we heard the kids, sports scientists, but, above all, the coaches.
