      Hi guys,

I'm preppin for another contest. I never did diuretics before but it seems necessary this time.

I'm not sure what to do: lasix or aldactone. I found a lot of information but there are a lot of differences in the comments. So, I would like to ask you guys:

Can I use them both at the same time?
      Is additional potassium necessary?
How long beforehand should I use them and in what dosage (which is safe)?

      Thanks!

If its a must only then i would use Aldactone or Diazide
not lasix. I'll bump it for you cuz i dont know too much but i do know 1 thing,
you should do a test run 2-3 weeks out to see how your body reacts

Hmm? I'm puzzled by the recent posts? Diuretics can be helpful and healthy. Aldactone is a potassium sparing non-loop (long acting) diuretic. Lasix is a fast acting loop diuretic. I believe the "stay away" posts are related to people abusing diuretics and having a horrible rebound effect. Taken correctly, they can keep blood pressure under control and keep you healthy. We would need more info on your AS use to properly inform you. IMO, if you are over 30 and using AS, 25mg HCT once a day is a must due to the risk of water retion related high blood pressure.

Ok the reason I said stay away from lasix is that I knew a powerlifer who nearly died from it by taking it orally. The other powerlifters(at the World Championships" took it intravenously or by injection as it is more reliable as to clearance.

Aldactone is an anti-androgen and can cause gyno but certainly defeats the purpose of taking AAS by binding at receptor sites. Therefore it is recommended for 3-5 days maximum.

Hydrochlorothyazide is effective but also has side effects and long term is harsh on the kidneys. 25 mg is a big dose also.

HCT (Hydrochlorothyazide) is used in treatment of high blood pressure due to water retention in doses starting at 25mg. They take it every day for the rest of their lives and never have any kidney proplems and having regular bloowork confirms this. Anyone with a tale of woe on how duretics messed up their kidneys or gave them health prolems was due to them taking far higher doses (10-20X) then what the should have taken. If I told you I was going to take 10 50mg tablets (500mgs) of Anadrol every day and six months later I had liver problems, would you demonize Anadrol or blame me for not using the drug at a safe dose? Just my 2 cents.

My dosage was 5mg and gave me a photophobia that my eyes never recovered from. There are many side efects to drugs, including this one and diuretics have proven over and over to harm the kidneys..look at the medical insert and precautions.

A lot of things can be helpful and healthy when not abused. Using diuretics and dehydrating ones self to get that "paper thin skin" look before a bodybuilding show is abuse in my book...
