TweetI had a buddy who was trying to become a pro wrestler. So he took me one day to his wrestling school which was owned by the Wild Samoans. It's a shame because there were many more pictures I can't even find . There were pictures of Bobby Heenan, who is the most funny person I have ever met! there was pictures of Brett Hart, The Samoans picking me up acting like they were gonna throw me out of the ring, and a few more. It was fun. In the picture of the 2 guys holding the WWF belt in front of Yokozuna, the black guy is Mr. Hughes, and the other guy was Doink the Clown (Matt Barnes). In the very last photo, this was the thrill of my life. OK, picture this: I'm 13 years old, and I'm at the Philadelphia Spectrum. Great seats right at the aisle. Bob Backlund comes out to wrestle Larry Zbysko. Backlund was one of my all time favorites. So as he's walking by, I say "Mr. Backlund, can I get a picture with you?" So he stops and says "Catch me after the match." I'm like, "Yea, whatever." So he wrestles Larry Zbysko to a 1 hour time limit draw. I'm thinking "No f**king way is he gonna want a picture." So help me God, he walks out of the ring and right over to me. He says "Hey kid, you still want that picture?" I'm like "YEA!!" So I thought I was just gonna put my arm around him or something. He scoops me up in a bodyslam pose. There's about 40,000 people screaming "DROP HIM, DROP HIM!!!!" I'm laughing, Bob's laughing. It was one of those memories I will never ever forget.

Thanks pally. I don't know if you can see real good, but on the wall is pictures of some of the people that trained there. There were some greats too! JunkYard Dog (RIP) Bam Bam Bigelow, Brett Hart, Shawn Michaels, HULK HOGAN! and many others. The belts hanging on the wall were the Samoans tag team belts. When they retired belts and updated them or bought new ones, the current title holders got to keep them. So while the Samoans were champs, they got new WWF belts and they got to keep the old ones. They're pretty damn heavy to! At the time, Yokozuna was the WWF champ. So that was the actual belt Doink and Mr Hughes were holding. That thing is every bit of 40lbs!

I went to high school with Road Dog Jesse James. His real name was Brian James. He was this tall lanky/skinny kid who played baseball but was soooo funny! We use to sit in Spanish class and he would brag to us about how big his dad's (Bob Armstrong) arms were....or how bad his brothers were.

His brothers still live around here and I must say...they are terribly ugly And the last time I saw Brian was about a year ago in Dollar General with a woman and he looked much bigger than in high school and full of tattoos and silver jewelry
