TweetIMO, I would much rather see Anderson go to LHW than GSP go to MW. Could you imagine a fight with Anderson and Jones? Or Anderson and Shogun? WOW...now those would be great fights!
TweetSo with all of this talk about GSP moving up to MW, assuming he gets by Shields, what are your thoughts? I really like GSP. He has been one of my favorite fighters for a long time, but honestly, I don't like this move. I think GSP moves to MW, gets smashed by Anderson, and then gets stuck in a division that he just can't get to the top in. I mean, GSP does great in WW but a lot of that is because he has so much size and strength on his opponents. I am not discrediting his skills at all, because he is very well rounded. Once he moves to the MW division, he will just be average as far as size and strength are concerned and I think it will make a big difference.

TweetI think GSP can do well in the MW division, but, yea, I think the better move would be to have Anderson move to LHW permanently.
TweetI think he will do well and that he can beat many of the fighters, but I don't think he will be a title contender as much. But who knows, he has all the skills to do so.

TweetDana already said if GSP wins his next fight he will have him fight Anderson Silva.
As for GSP moving up, I agree with it. He has been saying that his regular walking around bodyweight has been a lot heavier, thus making it harder and harder for him to cut weight. He said he doesn't feel that is healthy and puts his health and body first. He has been talking about this for a while. I believe he is one of the best UFC fighters in the sport and will deal with the weight class jump well. I think he will do very well in the new class and might just pull off a win against Anderson, though we will find out soon enough. GSP is arguably the hardest working most dedicated athlete in the sport. I'm looking forward to seeing him fight the bigger guys.

Tweettough call, he dominates ww, i'm sure alot of it is goal oriented, a personal test
plus, u gotta think danna is flashing some greenbacks, it's really hard to know all, a decade ago it was a passion for these fighters, now it's a legit career for life, so who really knows
i'd guess the plan is 2-3 fights and then fight of the decade him and silva and danna pushing for biggest ppv ever
i always buy gsp fights
i'm not buying the next one, so so card, i will buy the march fight, i like the card
TweetRead my post above. Dana has already said if GSP wins his next fights, and if Silva won his which he did, then the two of them will fight next. Also, GSP has been talking about moving up for a while. I saw him in an interview several months ago commenting on it. It has nothing to do with money and everything to do with his health according to him. He feels it is not healthy to continue cutting the amount of weight he has had to the last few fights. His regular weight off fight is now much heavier than earlier in his career. I believe he said he walks around off fights at around 185 if I'm not mistaken.

TweetBy the time GSP goes through his process to move up the correct way, silva will be 37 or so years old...the fight is getting less and less appealing as the time goes on. If silva is not in his prime when it happens, it's not as big of a fight.
I agree with jsjs24 about the fact that GSP is at the point where he has to move up naturally. I don't know why I had forgotten about that.

Tweeti was writing when u were posting
u say danan said if he wins his next fightssssssssss, which i didn't know, i said 2-3
imho, it's always about the money
TweetYeah, Dana said Anderson is not going to LHW, if GSP wins he will fight Anderson next, and if Shields beats GSP, there will be no fight between Shields and Anderson.

TweetI HOPE GSP CAN PULL IT OFF AGAINST SHIELDS BUT SHIELDS IS NO SLACKER HIMSELF. HE WILL COME IN PREPARED TOO
ITS GOING TO BE A GREAT FIGHT EITHER WAY!
The thing in this fight, IMO, is that Shields will find a way to get GSP down. GSP will try to keep it standing more than likely. If Shields gets any kind of control on the ground, GSP will be in a little trouble. When is the last time we saw GSP fight from his back really?
