UFC President Dana White has more than his fair share of detractors, but over the weekend White did something everyone can get behind.
For the back story on the situation, FightOpinion.com features a guest post from Adam Hill about Mr. Rattanachai Jadngooluem, also known as Kru Nai. Kru Nai is a Muay Thai trainer in Phuket, Thailand, whose seven month old daughter was diagnosed with a biliary obstruction. Due to a number of conditions in Thailand, her condition has worsened to critical, and she is in need of a life saving liver transplant, which carries a steep price upwards of $50,000 U.S. dollars, not to mention the drug regimen required after surgery.
On The Underground forum, a thread was created asking for White to "step up" and help out with the costs of this surgery to save this little girl's life. One of the UFC's employees frequenting the forum brought it to White's attention, and the UFC President is not only helping, he's making arrangements to pay for the surgery in whole.
It's a remarkable gesture from the UFC president, and hopefully all goes well for Kru Nai's daughter with this surgery.
Penick's Analysis: Both White and the employee that alerted him to the situation should be commended here. As the father of an 11-month-old daughter myself, my heart breaks for Kru Nai and his family with this awful situation, and while they've still got a long, hard road ahead, the first hurdle is being cleared with the help of White and the UFC. It's just such a fantastic thing to do, and at least for now White has helped save a little girl's life, and regardless of your thoughts on the UFC President, this was an amazing thing to do.

TweetVery nice story. Heartbreaking indeed, coming from another proud father of a beautiful young lady.
On another note. I just learned that a fellow that's been working with me, and has become somewhat a good friend over the past month or 2. His cousin, which is my wife's best friend told my wife that he's, the guy that's helping me out, is dieing from liver issues. His cuz, my wife's friend, doesn't know for sure if it's a 100% fact, but she said that his sisters and family have brought it up in the past. I'm not supposed to say anything. I know I just blasted it over the world-wide-web, but...ya know. Uck gossip, if it isn't fact. But if it is, I wish this guy would open up, and talk about it. That's not something to keep bottled up.
Heart-warming story, this thread is though.
