TweetWhat effects do anabolic steroids have on the heart?
Anabolic steroids cause enlargement of the heart in humans and
test animals. These are the same changes in heart
muscle that occur in chronic heart failure. For these
reasons, when a young athlete experiences sudden death the body is
often evaluated for steroid abuse. In one case report,
a 21-year-old steroid abuser collapsed and died during a
workout. The autopsy revealed an enlarged heart with
areas of dead heart-muscle tissue. Medical authorities speculated
that steroid abuse caused his heart muscle cells to grow faster
than the blood vessel supply. This created an area of heart tissue
with poor blood flow, leading to death of the new cells and a fatal
heart attack.
Disclaimer: Steroid use is illegal in a vast number of countries around the world. This is not without reason. Steroids should only be used when prescribed by your doctor and under close supervision. Steroid use is not to be taken lightly and we do not in any way endorse or approve of illegal drug use. The information is provided on the same basis as all the other information on this site, as informational/entertainment value.

Tweeti think heart issues are more of a direct danger with aas then liver/kidney.

TweetAlso, to add to this. The heart has the highest percentage of test receptors of any muscle in the body. That means, those who take high test cycles are in greater danger of enlarged heart than those that don't. Add cardio to that high test cycle and you have an even greater risk of enlarged heart. That's why I don't do ANY cardio while on. I had a friend who's heart was 1 1/2 times the normal size. His Doc told him it was just a matter of time and chances are he would never see old age with a heart that size. Unfortunately, these are things you don't usually know until it's too late.
TweetI agree, especially the liver because the liver has the ability to actually regenerate itself.Originally Posted by solidground

TweetI have read that the heart muscle does eventually return to normal when AAS use is discontinued.Originally Posted by magnus

Tweetin addition, when you hold alot of water, it raises blood pressure, so even if you dont need the anti-es for gyno reasons, they can be used to help keep the water retention down, which will help with lower BP.
