Are you serious? Only 512? How old is your PC? I thought you were looking at buying a new one? If you plan on upgrading to Windows Vista you are going to need 2GB DDRAM.

Yeah just have one built. It's a lot cheaper if you want all of the higher end components. If you really don't care about all the high tech stuff then just go to Best Buy and buy a pre-configured system for $400.

i wouldnt dare touch vista. uses WAY to much memory and complete **** from everyone i've spoken to about it. xp pro is the best there is IMO. 512mb of ram is more than enough, even if you're a gamer.

totally agreed, vista is garbage.....xp pro is the way to go.

at 512, if you arent running alot of stuff, you probably are fast.......

i had 512 in this rig factory, then after battling with internet,photoshop,outlook,and trillian, i upped it to 768 and it does the job fine. i would like to either add more or get a new pc all together......

the amount of ram you have has little to no effect on page load speeds. all depends on your connection and the server your pulling from......

TweetI upgraded both of my desktop systems from 256 to 512 and it made quite a difference. My lappy has 1G and sometimes leaves both of them in the dust....
