TweetI use no heat to takes a little longer but cleaner less yellow final product.
you can use a pin to vent I just put say 1" or 2" water in pan when boils shut off and set vial in til cool should clear up I had to do a few times before before it stayed clear sometimes a litle water can make it cloudy.

I'll try to soak it again later when I get home form work. Should I stick it in a pan of cool water on the stove and let it boil, or just soak it in already boiling water? Last night I had a pan of already boiling water, then soaked it.
Tweetit nevwer cleared should be ok but re-filter would not hurt.
Should have seen my first batch yrs ago!
