TweetSO FAR ITS LOOKING LIKE THIS ONE
TweetYo whats up guys, long time no be here. Im just here doin fine with school, girlfriend, and work.
I have a question. I got a 98 stanger 3.8 but was considering doing an engine swap to fit in a 5.0 302. Ive been looking around for some engines, maybe a new one istead of gettting an old one.
I saw this one with 225 horsepower.

and this one with 345 horsep..

If so i might save up for it to get it by december or early next year.
I just wanted to know if u all know if the price is too high or i can get a better deal off of doing to a junkyard and taking one out of any 302 ford car. Cause the car i got right now its all paid off, well has been paid off since last year and now i can fix it up. Everything is there but the engine. Got a killer system on it, the original rims on it (5 star 94-95 rims).
Tweetdepends what u want bro. i can have a junkyard motor rebuilt with new parts and ill be cheaper or do u want a brand spanking new motor in ure stang? its up to u really but id say u would save a grip if u went junkyard
Tweetlots of work , you'll need a new trans, computer, and mounts......and probally a hell of alot more stuff...
Cheat on your girlfriend, not your diet!!!
Tweetif you're gonna go through all that, y not buy a cobra or Saleen or SVT if u want that kinda power. that's a lot of work bro, but hey it's ur car so it's up 2 u

Tweeteasier to turbo you 3.0 than change to a V* you have to do so much work to get it emmision legal not to mention those are long blocks but still dont have EFI on them add $2000-2500 for fuel injection and a computer. also suspension will need to be upgraded to hold the weight of a V8. bang for your buck throw a juice kit on it.

Exactly. I am a Mustang guy - I have a turbo'ed '94 Stang, and I have seen this question asked a million times, and almost always it comes down to the same answer - if you want v8 power, you'd be much better off trading your car in for a V-8 stang.
If you like your 6, they make superchargers for the 3.8 now that some 6 guys seem to have pretty good luck with.
TweetI also say trade it for a V8 model.
IF your going to do the swap, go with a 351W. Same amount of work, but you end up with a bigger engine and more HP. Tho you may need to get a cowl hood.
Don't SC the 3.8L, they have weak head gaskets and your just asking for problems.
You'd need to change:
Motor mounts
Radiator
Transmission
Rear axle
computer
exhaust
front springs and shocks

Hindsight is always 20/20. But looking back it's still a bit fuzzy.
Tweethe's right, except for the springs and shocks thing, the car would sit lower so you might be able to get away with that....just trade it in or boost it....Originally posted by Got Gear?

Tweetunless your gonna make it carb /drag save your money and sanity, sell it and buy a v8. Toom uch too go wrong with wiring, sensors, eec, mass air, fuel mixture, etc etc. That engine can be bough tcheaper at a ford ******ship that sells motorsport parts

i ordered and installed some new springs into it, lowerd the car 1.4 inches all around. So far so good, the suspension sucked in my car before, the springs were loose and the ride wasnt good.
Tweetuse a 4.6.u can get 1 out of a cobra and get all the other stuff u need ,from the salavge yard.u can save a bunch!!!!!!!!!!
"That's what ya Want!"
TweetSwapping a 4.6 into that car is no easy task! The 4.6L takes up as much room as an oldschool 460!Originally posted by G-reg
