Hard work

TweetI spend half my time in my office the other half out in the field doing inspections, nothing physical normally at work.

My buddy asked for assistance in replacing his fence, I obliged. we had no idea the posts were put in with like 4-5 bags of concrete. Anyway something that should have taken 2 hours with a post puller took 10 hours in the 100 degree sun. we had to pull these posts with his big diesel truck. they weigh an estimated 300-400# give or take. post remover would not budge them.

Anyway, it was a good feeling to work out there, be very physical, use my muscles for something other than lifting or grappling. Oh I am starting to get sore and my back aches but I feel good.

Anyone else ever get that feeling from hard work in sucky, hot dirty conditions? I just feel good, if you know what I mean tell me about it. Why do I feel good when I should be relieved the posts are all out. I liked it, but I cannot understand why i liked it.

TweetI totally get what you mean. Outside working hard, its an adrenaline rush. Things like that make me feel like I have accomplished so much. You can also viualy see your hard work and know you were part of it. I feel this 'hard work' ethic is a thing of the past mostly but for those of us that witnessed it growing up..we still do it and reap the great feelings of accomplishment. You helped a friend in need, you knew it had to get done regardless of anything else, and you did it!!!!! CHEERS!

Anyone who has ever told me "It's hard work" as if they thought that would scare me...I would respond "and your point is?" "let's do this"

TweetI'm a new construction residential house plumber. I'm in the heat the cold whatever is happening outside I'm in. The heat is awful getting all your meals in when it's a hundred degrees out can be impossible. I believe it's just the feeling of accomplishment. And the tuffer the task the greater the accomplishment.

TweetI know exactly what you mean bro.. There's just something about a challenging, physical hard days work. Especially when it pushes you to your limits, yet you overcome and finish the job. I helped a buddy move his in ground sprinkler system last year. Felt like I was digging a trench a mile long in the heat of summer. But, when all was said and done, it felt good to sit back and be proud of doing it ourselves. (Even though I had no clue what I was doing at the time lol)
