Tweetwondering the same
TweetSo where are all the "Save the Gulf" concerts? Where are the T.V. Benefits with celebrities and musicians giving heart felt speeches on the poor fisherman, wildlife, beaches, loss of income and sabotaged gulf economy? I find it rather strange how these people (including our own government) are so quick to help Haiti and other countries...but sit on their butts for this one. Just the facts.
WHATS GOING ON? WHY NOT TRY AS HARD FOR THIS AS WE DID FOR THE OTHER COUNTRIES?
TweetGOOD QUESTION!!! Wheres Sean Penn and the rest of his liberal buddies?
TweetIsn't it odd. It's bad enough that they refuse to recognize the almost unaccountable people that are effected by this terrible disaster. But those effected could be accounted for. I'm pissed it doesn't even motivate one pencil-neck politician in Washington...entertainers?..Anyone!??? The mindset of those people is so fuked. It just depends on the people in distress. "Oh, they busted their asses for a living, and didn't ask the government for shit? fuk 'em." If I think about the last disaster that effected such a great number of Americans, and the reaction, reaction time, and all that came along with it. That really sets me off! Let alone the other countries we jump for.
fukthemutherfukers.
What a difference things do make, huh? what a big difference.
Remember who the real 1st responders to hurricane Katrina were?
TweetYou know what ****in Pisses me off? They talk about the ****in dead sea turtles and oil covered birds everyday, but the media has all forgot about the 11 hard working men that died that day. Who gives a **** if a seagull got oil on it. There are 11 families that will never see their loved ones again.
They call you paranoid until the worst happens, and in the aftermath they will call you a hero.
TweetThank you! That is what I've been ticked off about too. There has been nothing said about the men who lost their lives.
Another thing that has me confused is the fact that they initially said the oil leak was caused by an explosion. Then, weeks later they now say BP was finished with that well and was in the process of disconnecting when the disaster happened. Okay, here is my question. Why is there so much oil coming out if they were finished getting oil from that well? Perhaps there is a logical explanation but I think it is very strange.

TweetI'd like to know why the fail-safe valves failed. Supposedly it is to have an emergency auto close for just such an ocassion.
Why is it taking so long to stop the flow? I understand it's almost a mile under water. I'm a pipefitter by trade. There are several methods of stopping the flow. They didn't even try to pinch the line shut. There is a process called hot tapping in which a live line can have one or multiple branch lines installed while the main is still in service. This process could have been done with robotics, and still can. I just don't get it.
TweetMeanwhile Obama is being entertained at the Whitehouse by famous singers. And BP's CEO just said he hasn't heard from the president since the spill first occurred. I am not convinced that this was not done intentionally to push environmentalism down our throats and stop drilling temporarily and then pass legislature to nationalize drilling and the President control it all. If that happens I will be convinced it was done intentionally. Nothing makes sense. Why do you pull out of a well that has millions of gallons left in it? Also, just now there were some oil workers on Hannity that work in Saudi Arabia and explained that they know of many different techniques that work to clean up this type of spill and protect the coast, but they have been turned down when offering help. Companies that drill in Saudi Arabia offered help and were turned down. 18 countries offered help and only 2 were accepted, one of those was Mexico, can't remember the other one. This whole situation is strange. I don't mean to sound like a conspiracy nut but the facts don't add up. This administration is the most anti-oil administration we have ever had and the timing couldn't have been better. Only 4 weeks before the spill the President shocked the Americans people by calling to expand drilling contracts. Now he has called to cancel all drilling off shore.

TweetMy thoughts as well Js. Also it is wreaking the economy in the area. In a time when we're down we get kicked again. It is one area of the econmy that is somewhat protected by the demand of seafood and vacationers. Now a critical hit to help finish off the middle class businesses.
TweetO2 you have a very good point. I've been wondering the same thing. I guess everyone is sitting around thing BP is going to pay for it. I will to bet that this will be the end of BP financially. We're going to get stuck with the bill.
TweetNo way will this be the end of BP. They were Obama's biggest campaign contributor. Don't think that doesn't count for something. Also they were about to win the environmental award. BP will be fine, perhaps they may change their name or something bizarre but they will be fine.

TweetI am afraid this is one of the last major steps to deal a crushing blow to the economy to provide the means for this administration to gain more control over the private sector. If he stops all oil drilling off the coasts there will be more than 50,000 people laid off in the oil industry alone, then consider how many other businesses will be affected. This would be catastrophic. Trust me, the President is trying to destroy the United States of America and place us under complete government control. Those who still don't believe that, never will, and will only realize it when the time has come.
