cant wait. friday night gonna finally see what the new motor setup will do. should run better than it did with the old setup and nitrous this time even without spray.

with nitrous should be putting down over 500hp to the wheels and 540 ft/# of torque.

i dont know if drag radials are gonna help.

      man i am stoked

      anybody else dragrace?

no i dont, but when i lived in fla, there was an area of the city that they (builders) did all the streets but there was no house's. the police didnt patrol, so we'd all go out there and race. it was pretty sweet. alot of fun!!

I hit the quarter mile pretty much every week on test and tune night from 99-2004. I loved it.

Ofcourse came up doing allot of street racing, living in a vacation spot. Spring Break capital through the 90s. Lot of racing.

Good luck with the numbers. Keep 'em low, cept for speed. Bust ass. See if you can find a new Shelby out there to run. Sounds like you'd be hangin tight. That's a strong GTO you got there.

already ran one but it only had 300 miles on it and the motor was pretty tight. (shouldnt have been runnin it hard in the first place)

i beat him by .2 in the 1/8 with no spray street tire to street tire. i will say if we were both on slicks that thing would be a beast out of the dig with all the low end from the SC. also had a guy talking crap with a challenger srt-8. was a whipping. those things are slow (comparitively)

hah, I love to hear of a big bad SRT-8 taking a smack down.

but yeah man, 300 miles. That stang has allot of loosening up to do. It'll be a second faster once broke in.

dont know 1/4 only run 1/8. 7.4-7.5 with slicks and skinnys in the 1/8 with a terrible 1.8 60ft (need gears). not bad for a 4000 # car (with me, a 15# nitrous bottle and fuel) most cobras i run in street tire class have bad traction probs. i set my window switch at 3500 rpm so i dont blow the tires off the line. hope for a high 7 tonight with no spray and street tires

its not super fast compared to alot of cars at the track but it is respectable for a touring car.

not bad at all. In fact. Pretty darn quick for what I remember, but that was several years ago. Things have got a good bit faster.

"touring car" does that thing come in a 4-door?

no its got a "bmw" like suspension. IRS all around instead of a solid axle in back. great for spirited driving on curvy roads but terrible for a drag launch. also much more fragile than a solid.

car ran good but track prep was terrible, i could get out of the hole with a 2.0 60ft time but would blow the tires and go straight to the limiter in second and even third. best time without spray was a 8.4 best with nitrous was a 8.9 LOL juice made it slower! ran street tires and they just were not up for the job.

still fun. met some cool people but had a redneck piss in between my car and a trailer. almost lost my temper and whipped his ass. my wife quietly came over, took me by the hand and said its not worth it.
