here is my problem My damn truck won't start.
I got up in the morning it was like -28 celcius and i tried to start my truck the battery is strong bought it like 3 months ago. I turn the ignition and it seems like it will start but it just won't kick in.
i looked under the hood and saw i had barely any antifreeze so i added some and plugged it in hoping it will start soon.

i'm not really mechanically inclined so any help would be awesome.

The battery is new -----> so, batt is not dead.....especially since your engine is turning over.

Antifreeze ------> we all need it........but it has nothing to do with starting an engine.

**Your motor is turning over -------> Check for fuel.....your motor is probably not firing any fuel......sounds like a "free spinning" motor, not popping or burning any fuel ever few cranks??
You may have a bad ground for your fuel pump with the cold temps adding to this possibility, esecially if you're driving an older model vehicle.

Want to check for spark also? Pull the easiest plug and lay it's body (not the tip) against another piece of metal under the hood. Have a friend turn the key and look carefully for an arch of fire at the tip. If you have fire.....continue on with checking for fuel delivery as originally planned.

Also look for a wet-tipped plug just as you pull it out - important.
Maybe even smell for fuel in the head.

If you had a small amount of fuel in the truck, your fuel line could of frozen, esecially in the cold.

More than likely it is just fuel line freeze up. dump in a can of dry gas if you have some.

You say you plugged it in. The only engines I know of you can plug in to heat up are diesels.

      Yeesh!

This thread is hilarious! BBers obviously don't make good mechanics.

Wonder if he ever got his truck started? My guess is that it started after a few hours of being plugged in.

Cold weather is hell on batteries. If it is spinning over, even slow, it probably is your battery.I would jump it off or roll it off if it is a straight shft. After you get it cranked pull the positive battery cable off while it is running to see if your alternator is working. If your car shuts down after you pull the cable it is your alternator that drained your battery.

If it is spinning fast like normal but it just wont start it could be a number of things. distribuer cap/rotory button, coil, distributer, distributer gear, fuel filter, fuel pump just to name a few. Trust me I know my shit when it comes to cars.
