The Tennessee Center for Policy Research, an independent, nonprofit and nonpartisan research organization, issued a press release late Monday:
Last night, Al Gore's global-warming documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, collected an Oscar for best documentary feature, but the Tennessee Center for Policy Research has found that Gore deserves a gold statue for hypocrisy.
Gore's mansion, [20-room, eight-bathroom] located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).
In his documentary, the former Vice President calls on Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home.
The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh—more than 20 times the national average.
Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh—guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore's average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.
Since the release of An Inconvenient Truth, Gore's energy consumption has increased from an average of 16,200 kWh per month in 2005, to 18,400 kWh per month in 2006.
Gore's extravagant energy use does not stop at his electric bill. Natural gas bills for Gore's mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year.
"As the spokesman of choice for the global warming movement, Al Gore has to be willing to walk to walk, not just talk the talk, when it comes to home energy use," said Tennessee Center for Policy Research President Drew Johnson.
In total, Gore paid nearly $30,000 in combined electricity and natural gas bills for his Nashville estate in 2006.

TweetTypical Gore! LOL
What a douche bag hypocrite. To go and bash Bush for global warming and then do **** like this, what a royal douche bag. I think it's funny as hell he got busted doing the exact opposite of what he preaches.
Tweethey, as long as he keeps inventing things like the internet, he's ok in my book!!! (goofball)
HE WHO MAKES A BEAST OF HIMSELF, GET'S RID OF THE PAIN OF BEING A MAN!!

Tweetthats like saying your gonna spread the word and be the face of an anti drug campaign, tell of all the dangers etc, and then go home and smoke crack..i dont care what anyone does but i dont understand hypocritical people..why should you act like you care about something, publish books.make movies and then be 10x worse then the average person.
my point isnt that everyone should be the environmental jesus, i dont even believe global warming is a Big problem..my point is that he has a hidden agenda and he obviously can care less about the environment, otherwise he would live differently
(candidates@google:ron paul )
TweetExactly! He's a hypocrite.
Look, if he's that damn rich then he needs to have his mansion better insulated. Those are just ridiculous bills. We have mansions here in Colorado and most are built with the very highest in insulation, top notch windows and all that stuff to avoid having such ridiculous bills. If he's going to spend his money, he should have his house moderized with better energy effiency. You know, do some of the things he says 'we' should do. He got busted and I love it because he does nothing but talk down to people who ignore the energy crisis and then goes and spends 20 times the normal house. What kind os ****ty mansion does he live in that it's that poorly insulated? You see, I don't think that's it at all, I think he never thought anyone would find out. HAHA! You got busted Gore, now face the music! LOL
TweetDemocrat or Republican they are all evil! That's why we need to get independents into office! They all have hidden agenda's and are all corrupt!
Until people understand that the vicious cycle will get worse and worse and continue and continue!
TweetI'm sorry guys Al Gore is a straight up idiot. He's lived a spoiled lifestyle his whole life and has no perspective on real life. I'm glad he's take up a purpose to tell people about polution and global warming but he should start with himself first before casting the stone.
TweetPoliticians have no integrity. It's easy to say I have a superior moral code, when you don't live by it.
People need to start living by their philosophy, that's like Nanci Pelosi wanting a Boeing 757 as speaker of the house, when the last speaker had something like a 12 passenger jet, and she's the liberal *****ing that we don't redistribute enough money (well, thats not how she puts it but thats what she means) to the poor or that the government regulations aren't stiff enough on fossil fuel burners & conservative capitalist are suppose to be the greedy blood suckers, go figure.
Hell, if you can't live by your own morality standards, why should we elect you into office so you can force everyone else too.
Of course, conservatives are the same way, they want to use government to enforce their morality code when they don't even live by it: Gingrich, Guiliani, Limbaugh, McCain, Bush, etc and liberals are suppose to be the promiscuous drug users, go figure.
