      With the rising popularity of the new fitness craze that is crossfit comes with the question: “How can I use supplements to get an edge”. For those not willing to take the anabolic steroid route due to personal or legal reasons, SARMS are the next logical step. To determine what SARMS would be best utilized while training for Crossfit, we first need to determine the demands Crossfit places upon one’s body. Once we determine that, we can determine what SARMS would provide the desired effects in order to boost Crossfit performance.

      In Crossfit, the demands that are placed are variable and one needs to be prepared for everything. It is safe to say, though, that endurance is key in a Crossfit workout. Thus, any product that increases endurance will be beneficial to the participant. It is also safe to say, that a high bodyweight would be detrimental to performing these workouts due to the increased cardiovascular demands the added weight would place on the body. Therefore, we want to focus on products that increase endurance while avoiding products that may pack on too many pounds.

      Immediately, the first SARM that comes to mind is GW-50156 (Cardarine), which is a PPAR-delta agonist. The primary effect of Cardarine is to increase endurance and allow users to perform more work than they would be able to without the compound. Some other effects of Cardarine include fat-loss, improved lipid panels, and improved cardiovascular health. Another positive of this SARM is the lack of unwanted side effects that the user will experience. Dose ranges from 10-20mg per day.

      Another SARM that may be beneficial to Crossfit participants is SR-9009 or Stenabolic. SR-9009 acts in a different manner than GW-50156 as it attaches to the Rev-Erb protein, which will increase mitochondria in the muscles, thus leading to increased endurance and strength. Like GW-50156, this SARM also improves fat-loss and improve blood lipid numbers. On top of this, it also regulates blood sugar and decrease inflammation inside the body. Also like GW-50156, no side effects have been shown. Dosages range from 20-30mg per day.

      One can take the previously mentioned SARMS separately or even combine them for compounded effects. These two compounds will no doubt improve your efficiency during Crossfit type workouts and allow you to gain the edge over your fellow Crossfitters.
