MGF and IGF simplified

I get a lot of questions regarding these two compounds and how they work to create muscle.

MGF is the first of this two step process. MGF is a natrually occuring peptide that is actually a variant to IGF.. called IGF-1ec. It's created locally in stressed muscles as opposed to being created in the liver like IGF-1. MGF is essentially the first signal for muscle repair. It works by drawing in satellite cells in the muscle and causing them to split.. aka proliferation. Before these new cells can mature and grow.. they first must be "assigned" as a cell type.

This is where IGF comes in to play. IGF works as a differentiator. It essentially comes in and assigns the new cells as Muscle cells.. thus allowing them to mature and grow.. causing LBM gains.


As with all peptides, Timing is critical. If either process is disturbed, it will completely hinder production of either proliferation or differentiation.
