We will see. Nick will be one of the toughest fights he's had. But we haven't seen GSP motivated like this either. I can't wait!!
GSP will beat nick. diaz does not have hard enough punches to hurt him. GSP is a better athlete. cardio is pretty even and GSP can take nick down at will. and his BJJ defense is good enough he wont get caught.
i doubt it will be a beating but GSP will win
mark my words friends
Jipped genes, 10/30/11
Tell that to BJs face and his face is much harder to damage than GSPs.
I think the easy bet is on GSP to win just because of track record...but Diaz poses a lot of threats to GSP. I'm not saying Diaz will win...but he will be harder for GSP to beat than anyone he has faced. GSP can get the TD at will but will take a beating while on the ground. Considering GSP finishes no one and Nick is hard as hell to finish, GSPs TDs will be the difference. Standing Nick out points GSP. The ground game could go either way...but we know if you're on top, you're likely to win no matter what....dum**** points system
After watching the beating that Penn took last night, I'll put $100 on Diaz. GSP is still excellent all around. But as we found out with Chuck Liddell, guys age, and can't stay on top forever. I agree with Joe Rogan. Diaz has the best cardio hands down. His stand up game is second to none. And being a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu artist, his ground game is obviously excellent. I think he will be to much for GSP to handle. His fast pace will definitely throw GSP off.
GSP will get him down no doubts. There are very few fighters that can stop GSP from taking them down once....much less for 5 rounds. GSP's BJJ is very sound and it makes him hard to submit. But Nick has those sneaky subs. Not that they are subs that no one knows about, but his history with BJJ compared to GSP's is totally different. I see Nick sub'n GSP well before GSP could sub Nick.
I am going out on a limb here and picking Nick....mainly because my wife LOVES GSP (he is on of my favorites too) and I like having someone to cheer against...HAHA
And the biggest reason is because Nick comes to finish the fight EVERY time no matter what. GSP comes to win. There is a difference
Also, GSP is going to come into this fight looking a weight class bigger than Diaz. Both Diaz and BJ looked very small in this fight.
I agree. GSP has really good cardio as well. But the fact that he controls most every fight from the top is very deceiving as far as cardio goes. He doesn't have to put out as much as his opponents have and it makes his cardio look much better. Nick obviously has crazy amounts of cardio. I mean, the guys runs triathlons between fights!! I don't think cardio will be an issue for either guy in this fight. The TD's will dictate this fight.
He might look bigger but he won't look top of the MW big. Most think that Nick is a big 170er. He looked HUGE compared to BJ
Yeah, GSP has PLENTY of time left. I mean, I don't even know that he has hit his top level yet. He is just now putting good muscle on and has now got the weight cut down to perfection. Hell, GSP has an easy 10 years left barring any serious injury.
THIS WILL BE BAR NONE HIS TOUGHEST FIGHT...THIS ONE WILL TELL IF GSP IS THE REAL DEAL. NICK WILL COME TO KILL HIM! NICK WANTS THE BELT....BUT MORE THAN THAT HE WANTS TO GET PAID! :)
I wish GSP would "fight" him though. Not just take him down and lay on him for a win. I want to see GSP truly try to put a whooping on him
