Whats the ratio of simple to complex carbs be for all post insulin meals
i always drank a shake high in protien and simple carbs right afterwards, then an hour later i would eat a meal like chicken and rice.
Simple carbs break down much faster so IMO PWO nutrition should be simple carbs then complex with the following whole meals.
Especially while using LOG or any other fast acting Slin. Immediate absorption is best. Then complex after the intial spike with following meals.
i think it is 10grams of carbs and 10 grams glucose/sugar for every iu..
but like pigmeat said if you do a good shake and eat a healthy meal like chicken and rice or steak rice (white rice) you will be good to go. in other words do a normal post work out shake and meal and you will be fine.
some do shake and cell tech with cito carb and then a meal and that works very well to.
There are general guidelines to this question but there are so many things that affect insulin absorption and effectiveness... HGH, type of insulin you are on... Are you type 1 diabetic?... Search Search Search...
You got it. The general guidelines are generally 10g per 1iu of Slin. Definitely right on that one Snickers.
Seems Fuzo was asking simple to complex, not just general numbers. I have tried both ways in my many years of running slin. What worked "best" for me was simple carbs that didnt take long to break like some complex carbs following the insulin shot. Then followed up with complex carbs that take longer to break down leaving CHO in the bloodstream at all time.
WMS worked best for me being the quickest over both Malt and Dex immediately following my Insulin injection. Then whole carbs afterwards for reasons stated above.
