Bi's and tri's= big arms?
I went to Gnc lately and was talking to the guy about supplements and he asked me what my workout plan and i told him
Monday- Chest, Tris
Tuesday- Back,bis
Wednesday- Rest
Thursday- abs, Traps
Friday-Chest, Tris
Saturday-Back Bis
sunday-Rest
Repeat
He said that sounded good but he said the guys with the biggest arms always do
bis, tris Together, I always thouhgt u did chest and tris because ur workin those muscles in the same day
im looking for just mass nothing else feel free to critique my workout routine i dont work out legs that much i occasionaly work them in
Re: Bi's and tri's= big arms?
LOL -Did this guy have big arms?
Theres many different ways to work you just really gotta find how your body responds. Many will want to train Chest and Tris together because yes most chest excercises work tris also. Having enough days for Recovery inbetween working a certain part is very important, not having enough time will cause overtraining and that can actually make you smaller the more you work out.
I cant think of any direct benefit or edge that working out both bis and tris in the same day would give anyone, what matters is really just preference, allowing recovery, and avoinding overtraining IMO
Re: Bi's and tri's= big arms?
they were 19 inches around and i saw sum other guy at the gym with decent arms he was working out bis and tris together
Re: Bi's and tri's= big arms?
does my workout routine seem like im overtraning? i try to leave 48hrs for reset like i said i just want mass
Re: Bi's and tri's= big arms?
IT really depends on the person and their response. I would say yes probably a little, and change it to
Monday- Chest, Tris
Tuesday- Legs
Wednesday- Rest
Thursday- Shoulders, abs
Friday-Back, Bis, Traps(part of back)
Saturday- rest
sunday-rest
Repeat
Re: Bi's and tri's= big arms?
Is it better to work out everything once a week for mass?
Re: Bi's and tri's= big arms?
Thats very hard to say. It really is person specific, everyone has a different rate of recovery, and on top of that some people respond better to higher volume and some to lower volume. I personally believe in the once a week or every 4-5 days approach per bodypart. You'll get a better idea once the others chime in and you see how different everyone trains :)

Re: Bi's and tri's= big arms?
If you ask yourself if u're over training you probably are. A good way to measure is if you can go up in weight every time. Doing Arms together doesnt sound that great at all, think about it
Tri,Chest, Shoulder often time share a conenction
back,bi often time share a connection
I do not do any direct bicep work and my biceps seem to be growing much better from just the back exercises.
Re: Bi's and tri's= big arms?
as far as mass-- thats diet.. rep range, and a few other variables
frequency? I workout 2x a week for 45 minutes doing a west side bb routine and seeming to get great mass. before that i did a DC routine for 3x a week for 45 minutes -- again with good results.
I think if you hired iron addict (200 for 3 months) you would be making phenominal gains it seems you need some direction... ironaddict@ironaddicts.com
Re: Bi's and tri's= big arms?
bench press ive been seeign alot of gains but ive also been taking protien shakes and eating protien all day along with alotta carbs and fat im eating like a mad man to gain like one lol
I think i might try hitting everything once a week and see what goes from there and just judge my self
im 17 186lbs 6"1 if that helps with ne thing i read in joe wieders body building book that younger ages usally need less time to recover from hypertophy than older aged people do so thats why ive been hittin it like 2x a week but i think i need to slow it down and take it slow cus i want all mass
Re: Bi's and tri's= big arms?
dont listen to anybody at GNC. TRUE to have big arms you need to work the bis and tris but you dont have to do them together. chest/tris, back/bis would be more beneficial.....heavy back movements with good form will work the biceps a good bit then cook them with some sets of bicep work. I only do one bodypart a week because it takes that long to recover.
Re: Bi's and tri's= big arms?
ps you have the same build as me at that age except im 6'2....make sure you do your compound movements and get your protein 1-1.5g per lean lb of bodyweight.
Re: Bi's and tri's= big arms?
The guys with the biggest arms ( or any muscle) don't always do the same routine or split. They change it up to shock their bodies into further growth.
Re: Bi's and tri's= big arms?
don't skimp out on legs. it is very important and will help your upper body grow as well.
