I an due to make my gym re-debut after 1 year long injury/back surgery in 2 weeks . . .

My receptor sites are clean like a virgin. I'm 15 lbs overweight but aside from my abs being non-existent, I was soooo pumped to begin the journey back to my former self. Then today, after not stopping or suspending my membership dues for the gym that I've returned to after EVERY major injury/surgery (The local Y where the 130 steal plated dumb-bells/ plates and machines haven't changed in the dungeon w practically no A/C - where the posers and make-shift tuff guys/ BB'ers never last, I've supported and NEVER cancelled my membership at since I've been 18 yo, even when I lived out of state because I always start over (12 operations and 30 years later - it's where I began and have always considered my home no matter what it's taken to recover. Everytime - I am humbled and have been blessed to have a constant in my life, my gym . . .till now. I was informed today that Mike DeWine, our great Governor of Ohio (sarcasm) has mandated wearing a mask and social distancing at penalty of fines and expulsion if not observed except while actually performing a set.

I will be, 2 weeks prior to my 13th come-back attempt in 30 yo'd be dropping my membership, two weeks before I'm able to start training again. WTF - I get that cases are on rise again but how about taking temps upon entry and some other form(s) of precautionary measures other than restricting my oxygen intake in between sets/let alone super-sets when I need my air to help get ready to train till failure to grow . . as I've always done?! How am I supposed to push 405 on the incline again anytime soon with a fucking mask on?! I know I'm not the only one that is faced with this dilemma so please feel free to chim in on this.

It is like that in many places. Look around for a gym that suits you

google the medical document that you cant require a mask and anyone trying to force you is invading your hipa rights. you can go that route or use the it's against my religion and ask them if they have a good lawyer. the trade off is that if the operators are dicks they can forbid your entry into their business.

As for the mask I grudgingly wear mine. (Nose exposed)

According to my gym it's still up to their discretion, even with a medical condition/ doctor's note, whether they allow me into their facility or not without a mask. They said that they'd cancel my membership and give me back any prorated monies owed if I wanted rather than put others at risk.

yep that's what a lot of places are doing. if you were the type to sue you could win. the mask thing is getting way out of hand. hell even the military isnt requiring masks in the gym and they are about as stupid as they come

not freaked out by it at all but was in the er last night and actually saw a dead body. no clue if it was from the virus or not but still a tad bit eye opening. then lets trade off the freaky fact of seeing docs and nurses in full gear, one wearing a no shit gas mask all running around. then look out the door and see them all standing around bsing not wearing anything with their masks around their neck. i actually watched the doc who had on the gas mask, wipe his mouth on his sleeve of his scrubs. they didnt seem to concerned to me but i damn sure sanitized the hell out of my hands and changed clothes as soon as i got home. i kept my mask on in there haha, but they didnt allow me to take it off anyway

Has anyone been to the gym yet since they mandated masks? I saw liberal dipshit post a pic on FB of himself at the gym wearing a mask , saying how happy he was to see everybody in the gym wearing a mask. Virtue signaling

none of the facilities i train at require them while training not even on base. they dont allow spotting take your temp when you go in, make you use hand sanitizer when you come through the door and two of the gyms i go to require you to sign a waiver that you dont have it or have not been in contact with anyone with it. i couldnt imagine doing cardio wearing a mask. i almost pass out if i have to wear one
