Since I was kind of checked out during history class, having our daughter has given me another chance to learn more about history. This morning's home lesson and Im teaching it...but first coffee! You know that number 4? Well it's for real:D

I like going back in history and looking at events that happened on the current day. It's funny how much of our thought processes today were very similar back then.

Re: May 18, 1980
I always liked History in school, big ol' books full of cool pictures and stories I could get lost in. America The Land and It's People was my favorite that I got for Collage History. I tossed all those in the used book bin at the High School, S#it ! Powell's buys those back stupid me ! Anyway, the "grown up" version is way different than the Grade School version. The Spanish, Native Americans, and Black Slavery etc. not like what younger children are taught. Native Americas where slaughtering each other over land way before the Spanish and White Man came. No kids, Christopher Columbus wasn't jus checking out the beaches exploring. The Africans where selling and trading Africans to the Dutch, not a bunch of Crackers from the Dirty South. Great Job Baby1 ! I think that's way cool that you're getting the chance to do that. I'll tell ya I learned way more outta the classroom, I didn't have al the drama ya know ? and I didn't have to compete with 20 or so other kids, kids who only cared about making a grade rather than actually learning or even grasping what was taught if that makes sense. So many "smart" and "well to do" people that cant even make a grilled cheese sandwich or change a tire. Blessed Be Girl !

I remember sitting on the floor watching footage on the news with my dad. It was surreal.

If that happened today the liberals would use it to shut down the economy
