Who to tip? Waitresses, deliverymen, barbers, trash men, etc etc???
Do you tip when you go to Applebees or restaurant for carry out or curb delivery? I usually give them a dollar. Am I being a cheapskate?
Trash man? Mailman? Valet? Bud tender? Paper boy -yes...
If and when? How much do you usually tip?

I always tip when I go out to eat !!!
It’s usually 20% .
When I get my car valet’d I absolutely tip.
The Mailman I tip so any packages get left on the back door . Usually I’ll give him a $20 spot .
But I tip if I think whoever hooks me up either if I go out to eat , at the bar , which I don’t usually drink , but I’ll tip the bar tender, anytime I feel as if I got great service!!!

I usually tip for most services. I always tip waitresses/waiters, bar tenders, valet, etc... I also make sure I tip extra for exceptional service.

I tip[ when service is good. We went out the other night and I had super spicy wings. My glass was empty and my mouth was burning. The waitress came over and I had reached across to grab my wife's drink and was chugging. She saw this and I assumed she would understand I needed more drink. So I said nothing. She never gave me more.
$3 tip on a $40 bill, I set my empty cup on the receipt and passive aggressively drew and arrow to my empty glass.
but if i have great service, above and beyond I will tip fat. 25% in some cases. For the most part 18%
I will give a dollar or 2 on a take out order. Hell give em a $10 and you get home and they messed it up and there is hair in your food or such........nope.

Sorry man I have to disagree with what you did the other night you went out. She can't read your mind no matter how many times you reach for your lady's drink. When my suffering bastard hits empty I have no problem giving a shout.
I do agree that tip should reflect how satisfied you are. And tipping well and getting sh!t in your food is an awful situation but easily remedied with a phone call/holla and I get another one.

I was working as a waiter at Bennigans one summer and I am in the back and this waitress is saying how this entire family stiffed her on the tip and she gave great service. It was my last day so I decided to do something about it.
Well, I go running out into the parking lot after this family, Im wearing my green bennigans shirt and apron. I see the dad sitting int he front seat of the car. I walk u and tell him to roll down his window. I say "hey how was your service?"
He says "Good"
I say "Then why in the fuck didnt you leave your waitress a tip???"
I go back inside to keep waiting tables and I see the dad walking back in the restaurant to tell the manager about me. The manager calls me into his office and fires me...true story ...lmao

I hear you but her only job is to make sure we are served. If she does not care enough to look and see that my tea is empty (Clear glass) and the sign that I am reaching across because my mouth is on fire, then she is not good at her job. It is probably the most basic and common of all service a waitress provides.
I have waited tables before in college and my manager told me if you are taking another's order always look at all of your tables around you to make sure they have beverage, it was rule #1. Like I said either she did not see or she did not care to do a simple and easy part of her job. Either way I expect to have my glass filled without asking due to my own experience. If you are WORKING for a tip then work for it. Maybe it is just me and I expect better of folk. I realize this is the generation that got a trophy for everything so they never learned to work like we did.

I used to be a person who just expected things and that came from how I was raised. The "You know what needs to be done so do it".Then I met fuzo who was more of a "If you want something ask,I can't read minds". Hard behavior to change but I get it now.

if my drink runs empty or they bring my check before i am finished i wont leave a single cent point blank period. same goes for shitty service. i wont do it ever. it's their job and they are working for their tips. i dont hold them accountable for the kitchen being slow but everything else falls on their shoulders and if i were doing the job i would expect no less. am i a dick? maybe but that's how i roll

Re: Who to tip? Waitresses, deliverymen, barbers, trash men, etc etc???
i igive the lady who cuts my hair 5.00 everytime. i give the pizza delivery guy a couple bucks. if service is good i leave 18-20%. when i went to the bars i would tip the bartenders well as they took good care of me. one lady bartender i would always go see and tip her 50.00 to 100.00 per night as she would hand drinks over people to me and not charge me for all my drinks..she took good care of me so i took good care of her..

YES! It is a fundamental part of their job to make sure I have what I need. If I have to ask for it I might as well do it myself. In that case why should I pay for a service i did not receive?
