that would be a hard thing to do. parents now a days are whinny and they raise ***** kids..a friend of mine coaches pop warner football. he would tell me stories about getting into arguments with parents
i did it for one freaking season. one season and i will never coach youth again ever. a good friend of mine runs the cities rec program and duped me into doing it. i could have killed his ass. he asked me to coach basketball later in the year and i had to nicely tell him to go fuck himself haha. he did stick me with volley ball for one season as well and it was just as bad because our coach got called out to work a lot. so i got stuck both officiating and coaching off and on. that was a little better but both the kids and parents where still garbage. i only had to tell one dad that if he didnt knock it off i was going to wait for him outside and he simmered down after that, esp since i didnt lose my cool and i whispered it in his ear as opposed to yelling.
these sports are supposed to be fun and a learning experience for the kids. parents need to step back set a good example and let the kids have fun
I help coach my good friends select team boys 12-14. these kids are all about baseball and totally dedicated to it. Every one is super well behaved and does what they are told (most of the time it only takes once)yeah they can get a little rambunctious from time to time but that is what boys do. Holler at em and they calm straight down.
I think most select teams are like this boys or girls as these kids LIVE for their sport.
