Medications, several...lol. And the gym of course. Sorry brutha I know that's not a lot of help but your not alone.
i try to destroy myself as much as possible in the gym for starters and then stay as busy as possible afterwards. works pretty well to not have an idle mind
Sparring. I have been doing Muay Thai, kick boxing and boxing for 10 years. It centers me. Of course I spar with guys that have control and are not looking to smash me as i am old, slow and not very good. But when you are spent, sweat pouring off you and you have just done 10-12 rounds of sparring, I feel so centered and good. All my troubles see far away.
Coping mechanisms for me involve two things...
1) Physical, which for me is the gym. I leave everything I have with that iron. I completely annihilate what ever muscle I'm working until I crawl out the door.
2) Mental, I have to keep my mind busy. I'm a bit of a nerd outside of the gym, so for me that's usually escaping in video game, movie, book, here on the board, etc... I'll find a project, or some goal I need to work for. When I can't think of anything to do, I start brainstorming on what types of businesses would be great to start. Anything to keep my gears turning.
A good scotch and a cigar on the back porch helps some too lol.
If its to be, its up to me. In the end we are the only one that can help ourselves. Everything else is bullshit.
The few I have are my saving grace. Some require an open mind, lol. Everyone is good at something. Find that and use it, best to be a healthy choice though
For most of my life, I believed in and depended on religion. Now I know all religion is a crock of shit. Everything in life got better after I finally realized that. We are 100% responsible for our lives and nothing or nobody is going to help us
