i have two bodybuilding ones from cardillo. they are old school leather. i have also used a shreik contoured belt in the past. i really like the lever belts that a lot of power lifters use, i just havent seen the point in investing into something that i rarely use because i dont go super heavy any more
cardillo
I used to wear one of those thick & very stiff powerlifting belts with the lever for everything. I would stand there doing curls in that damn belt LOL I freakin lived in that thing. I recently gave that belt to the Goodwill
I would only wear it for Back day for support
You can get pretty decent vinyl Velcro types for cheap. Like guns, I don’t lift super heavy, but it gives me a nice little support (also reminder to activate abs)!

Ya, that was 20+ years ago when I had that old powerlifting belt that I wore for every workout no matter what ...Then later I realized that was not such a good idea. lol
I have one of the old leather ones too. It's got the two prong buckle. I usually wear when deadlifting or squatting and love it.
Nothing wrong with wearing a belt Brother, I have a really nice one that I got from Lifting Straps USA ? It's one of those 1/2 inch leather ones with a latch. I like it cause I can get out of it quick without having to try to suck in a breath while tryin' to unbuckle straps. Plus chicks dig it ! I think it was like $50 maybe ?
I had no idea that those belts are used to sustain your back!! I'd always see big men wearing those while lifting and wonder if they're some kind of corsets. I never used one, and perhaps it would help me with my back pain. I read at the end of the post the disclaimer about steroids. I'm not sure what to say about that, several bodybuilders have been using it for years, and no severe side effects are mentioned. I believe if you're taking it with moderation and you're listening to your body, you should be fine.
I stopped wearing a belt at the recommendation of my back doc. He said because it helps out stabilizer muscles and erectors that they can become weaker due to the belt's support. I do not know, but I was getting hurt a lot. I also lift lighter. No deads or squats over my body weight. Miss it but I feel way better.
I want to be able to fit into my old weightthlifting belts. Getting fat sucksaass
