anyone ever have a bad insulin shock attack and needed to grab a coke or some chocolate
not from the slin itself while it is active but i have had my sugar crash before a time or two. it is pretty scary. i have found that if i miss time a meal post workout with cardio is when it happens most often. shaking and sweating bullets while cold is a scary scary feeling
woke up in the hospital in 2009. said i was 10 minutes from death. had taken slin after training and thought i consumed enough carbs post training/slin inject and went to bed. wife very concerned when i was still asleep and unable to be woken approximately 16 hours later. i believe they said my blood sugar was around 17 when they transported me. i flat lined twice on the way to the hospital and once more at the hospital. this was about the same time i had been taking vicodin and soma for a bad injury and the paramedics and ER dr weren't aware initially why i was unresponsive and they had seen the rx bottles of the two meds and assumed OD. dr asked my wife if i might have tried to OD and she said no and he said we are going to give him something to counter an OD but if he isn't on opiates he could have a bad reaction. I apparently had the bad reaction as i came out of unconciousness very fast and punched the er dr and shoved a nurse across the room before being sedated and restrained to the bed. woke up having to piss really badly and finding myself restrained to a bed. not a positive reaction to my first (and last) slin run
never a big deal but could feel myself going hypo coming home from gym stuck in traffic (I had my shot in my lunch cooler and would hit it in the parking lot). I had glucose tabs ate two and felt fine. I stopped messing with slin when i could not get it from canada anymore so it has been a long time
One thing I always had in my gym bag was Glucose tabs because I use to take my slin at the gym post workout and had a 20min ride home. Just in case of a flat tire or traffic
i use mine pre and i have always kept those tabs along with nerds and gummy bears in my bag at all times. my intra drink has enough in it but always better to be safe than sorryQuote:
