Nope and my wife is an RN. The newest guidlines for her in the hospital say not to aspirate for IM injections. That if you are doing it right you are not close enought to a major blood vessel.

I always do and have for years. I never did way back when I first started, but couple times had that "take your breath away" feeling in your chest accidentally getting too close to a blood vessel or something. After experiencing that a couple times back in the day I started aspirating every time and have been for years since.
Always! Good habit. Wait till you dont and hit a vein! You decide after that!
