i like chicken and calf liver and will eat tripe in menudo or pho but I am out on chitterlings, smells like doo doo even if they are triple cleaned. I tasted once and the flavor was OK because of the spices but the smell.........could not do it.

Yes they usually are. Calf heart is great. They are usually high in protein and low in fat. The issue is cholesterol levels. This is the only thing you should watch out for.
