Could be a number of things affecting your cardio brotha, but I wouldn't think test alone at that dosage would be the culprit. How long have you been running the test?

get your rbc count checked man and maybe an estro panel. those are the only two things that pop into my head that could cause issues with that low dose of test. you may even want to go so far as to have a full physical done to make sure your cardio system is good to go.

A high dose would hurt you but if you are around 700-1000 ng/dl it will only help. what kind of fight?
I have fought several Muay Thai and boxing matches in my 40s. i can say TRT helps me a lot. are you getting out of breath or your muscles giving out? or both? normally one or the other. grappling will make your arms noodles while striking will take make you huff and puff.
also what weight? I started by cutting to 185 from over 200# and have kept dropping mass until now i compete at 160-165. my cardio is WAY better. weight lifting and fighting are tough for an ammy. (i assume it is not a pro fight?)
funs has a point. if your RBC count is low for some reason that could do it. eat spinach every day it has micro nutrient and iron to help build RBCs. i blend it in a smoothie with kale and berries.
here is one of my biggest tips. magnesium supplementation. take a 100mg over the RDA and break the dose into 2Xed use mag citrate, not oxide. made a huge diff after 2 weeks
high estrogen could cause you to be holding a lot of water. that will slow you down.
beta alanine 3-4 X ed will help muscle fatigue. tabata drills 2X a week will help O2 utilization.
I have a good regimine for me now. my first fight i looked great but tired out in the 1st round and my arms and legs were like lead. now I am not even training 2X a week and went 3 rounds with a kid in his 20s with only 30 second breaks. Let me know I will help you as much as I can. if you are a bog guy I may be no help.

Thank you everyone for your response with this issue! I appreciate the help. Jipped Genes I am glad to see someone else on here that has been through the same thing I have experienced. I am 40 years old and have been on TRT through my doctor for a year now and I have been having issues with becoming fatigued fairly quickly. I experience both muscle fatigue and cardio fatigue and feel like I should be way past these issues as I train fairly regularly. I have started to cut down from 185 to 170 because I was concerned by extra weight would wear me out too. I am also on 150 mgs of Tramadol every day but I can't find anything that states that it would hurt your cardio. I have become so worried that I went and saw a cardiologist and they told me everything looked normal. Its a complete mystery to me and I really wish I could figure it out.
How many mg of test are you taking a week currently? Maybe I am not taking enough to see any benefits

get rid of the tramadol if at all possible man. that stuff is nasty harsh on your body and tends to be addictive. your doc should be able to give you some better non additive and non impacting alternatives to try out. that stuff made me feel drained nasty and tired all the time. that def could be the culprtit that is hampering your progress imho. they tried injectable and tabs with me and they both had the same effect. i felt like ass

Damn man I appreciate it. I take it every day and have been for almost 2 years now. I think it will be hard come off of but I am willing to try anything at this point. When I take it I get a bit of energy and feel very good mentally, but I am wondering if it is making my brain happy but wearing down my body.

Yep, I'd definitely drop the tramadol if possible bro. That's probably a big factor in what's causing the issue. One possible side effect of it can be respiratory distress.

idk what civilian docs are doing in place of trama right now because i havent used it in a very long time but i did see a sign up in the va saying that they are offering alternatives to it blah blah. i had no need to ask but you should see what your doc can do to replace it out slowly and get onto something that isnt addictive and wont impact the cardio. i hate pain meds with a freaking passion and miss a hell of a lot of sleep because i refuse to take mine and i have tried damn near everything from sleep meds to hard core nerve meds. i dont like it so i pretty much suck it up 99% of the time

Thank you guys very much for the input. I really appreciate it because I was struggling to figure it out. I know that may sound dumb because the obvious thing would be the Tramadol but as I said before, when I take it it actually gives me energy and improves my mood (hence the reason I have been on it daily for 2 years now) but I believe you may be right that while it is waking up my brain because of the serotonin and other receptors, it is slowing my cardio and muscle output way down.

tramadol will not kill your cardio, i have taken it before and had no ill effects.i find that being lean near your natural weight with no resistance training is the best balance of power, strength and cardio. muscle burns O2.
anxiety and stiffness kill cardio. i am so far out of fight shape right now but can go 3 - 3 minute rounds with no problem. one must really relax in there. don't push punches, don't muscle in grappling. once your technique is fired, aim it and relax. as soon as it lands and imparts it's energy pull it back to your guard. I am a certified USA Boxing coach and a Krob Khru (assistant instructor in Thai) as a guy coming in on 50, i do not have much left athletically. i have to be crafty as i am slow.at 40 you will too. this is just my opinion. the supplements i mentioned before will help both cardio and muscle fatigue but if you have bad habits that take 2X as much energy to apply you will still gas out.
eat spinach every day. magnesium, beta alanine and relax when sparring, rolling ect. the last thing is to shut down your brain. during stress it can use huge amounts of O2. fear and anxiety can cause adrenaline dumps that will give you a quick burst then leave you burned out. in Japanese martial artists call it "no mind" (Mushin) learned this in Judo and traditional Jiu Jitsu.it is hard to master, epecially when a guy is cutting through your guard or catching you on the feet. but if you can just let your muscle memory work for you and relax your cardio will improve by leaps and bounds. many MMA coaches are great coaches for technique but do not know many of the old mental tricks. Muay Thai has been around 2,000 years. so much to learn.

na bro the test wont hurt your cardio at all even if your rbc is a lil high ... i have been on test for years and been competing in jiu jitsu turnys , jits super fights and mma fights .. there are a few things you can look into tho .. i always take B complex , a baby aspirin, and Siberian ginseng root.and cardio was always on point good luck man it takes alot to train and fight ....
