Most people consider anabolic steroids, as well as bodybuilding supplements to go hand-in-hand. They think that many athletes as well as bodybuilders make use of anabolic steroids in order to gain muscle. Often, such kind of steroids is to be found in the natural as well as in the synthetic form. So, even though there are a lot of controversies and a variety of anabolic steroids in the synthetic form, there is a lot of health benefits associated with it. Going for the natural anabolic steroids and supplements can actually help the bodybuilders as well as normal people to gain a lot of muscle mass, but it needs to be used with a lot of care and always in moderation.
Anabolic steroids have always been used in order to promote the growth of the cells, as well as in the cell division. One of the most common principles behind bodybuilding is the increase in the muscle within the body. Now, that can only be possible with an increase in the cellular structure of the body, as well as regained in the body mass. Larger muscles would be able to create its own structure, from the smaller muscles. However, most of anabolic steroids and bodybuilding supplements have been able to face a stigma that is rampant in the bodybuilding industry. Whenever the athletes as well as a lot of competitive sports personalities make use of anabolic steroids, they are abusing the system in the fair spirit of the game.
Everybody knows that anabolic steroids can end up increasing the overall body structure, and provide a competitive advantage to the people going for it. However, even after such cautionary notes provided to that lease, if they end up using anabolic steroids, at the end of the day, it is the steroid that is to be blamed. Due to this, there are a lot of officials in various kinds of sports like football to hockey, imposing a blanket ban on the use of anabolic steroids. There are also a lot of scandals, the most recent, which happens to be the Tour de France multiple times winner Lance Armstrong being embroiled in the use of anabolic steroids. So, you do realise that this particular type of steroid has been able to face a lot of flak from the general media, as well as from the sports people as well.
The one effective measure that most of the people need to know about anabolic steroids is the fact that it is very necessary in the bodybuilding. Without a definitive increase in the body structure, a bodybuilder would not be able to create an impact in the sport itself. Most of anabolic steroids provide the correct amount of high blood pressure, as well as the best possible muscle growth within a short period of time. If induced in the body with the correct dosage, the aspirants of the bodybuilding sport will be able to witness a noticeable change in their body structure. This can actually help the people understand about the kind of steroid that is to be used during bodybuilding, and the serious impact that is to be found in this particular sport.
In most of the cases, medical treatments are also to be done with the help of anabolic steroids. One has to know that not all anabolic steroids are actually banned by the sporting events, or for that matter, any use to counter-attack any sort of problems that may be inherent in your body. After all, medications can also come in the form of steroids. So, you have to make sure that you take the help of a medical practitioner before you can actually go for the introduction of anabolic steroids in your body.
After all, medical treatments that make use of testosterone can also be considered as anabolic steroid. It can actually have the athletes recover from the injury, and it will also be able to provide them with a temporary boost in power within their bodies. There are also a lot of cases by which steroids have been able to help the patients with cancer and AIDS combat diseases.
However, the most important impact that anabolic steroids has had is in the bodybuilding industry. The bodybuilding industry does make a rampant use of anabolic steroids, and it has been described by most of the professional bodybuilders is the Holy Grail for this particular sport. So, since it happens to be a necessary evil, most of the bodybuilders make use of it, even knowing that any sort of abuse on anabolic steroids is going to end up creating a very bad impact for them in their lives. So, to answer the question asked in the beginning, the use of anabolic steroids are definitely a very important factor in bodybuilding, and will continue to be so, until and unless a new product of a better impact is introduced to the market.
Re: Does bodybuilding require anabolic steroids?
Since the "Genie was let out of the lamp" in the 60s bodybuilding has never stopped using steroids. Other sports like the NFL (Cowboys and Steelers especially) used them in the 60s and 70s like candy (yes and this carried on in the 80s and 90s as well). It was not till 88 Seoul Olympics when Ben Johnson beat Carl Lewis that they became "demonized/scheduled". I think 7 or 8 of the top ten sprinters that year was on a PED including Carl Lewis. So congress scheduled them while the DEA and FDA thought it was stupid to do this. Steroids in the 70s and 80s did not impact society in a negative way. Giving a athlete more speed or strength does not qualify it as a "harmful" drug.
Bodybuilding unlike other sports does not test for PEDS. 95% of society does not care if guys in speedos oil their bodies up and pose. So steroids stayed VERY prevalent in bodybuilding while baseball, football and most sports test and test and test for PEDS. Look at poor A Rod. He gets treated worse then Aaron Hernandez which is a freaking killer.
Now their are "natural" contests that test but this does not rule out all PEDS. This is one test before the competition, there for not too hard to beat. As for the question does bodybuilding require steroids. No. But if you want to compete, you have to play the game that is in place.
Re: Does bodybuilding require anabolic steroids?
I think answer is yes. Since most competitions do not test for steroids, as they are pretty much the norm, there's little chance if any to win without them. (Assuming trying to win is your goal). If contestants 1 and 2 do similar training, diets, and such, and person 1 does AAS and person 2 does not , guess who's gonna put on more muscle. We could argue genetics all day long and training styles but bottom line is, people use AAS because it works. You want to win compititions that don't test for PED's......well you know what I'm gonna say.
Re: Does bodybuilding require anabolic steroids?
FUCK YES !!!! It goes hand in hand for me !!! I love it and will continue to lift weights w/ AAS !!!
That's my thing !!!
Re: Does bodybuilding require anabolic steroids?
it's part of powerlifting ,at least in my federation, i swear you can smell the TNE at a meet
Re: Does bodybuilding require anabolic steroids?
My personal trainer / nutritionist says that meeting your goals is 80% diet, 15% exercise, and 5% genetics / gear. Gear is only required to push you past your genetic limits. The current state of body building and power lifting and such is that everyone is using AAS, so it has become a requirement.
