Should he come back or retire?
Surgeon says Anderson Silva could train again in six to nine months
I have a plate and 7 screws in my left leg. Broke both bones. Silva has 9 pins. Similar fracture. I was 19 when I broke mine. Silva is 40. I was in a walking cast for 5 months. I recovered well but my left leg is shorter and 16 years later I still walk with my left foot pointed outward slightly and still favor the left leg and try to protect it. He could train again in 6 to nine months physically. But mentally he will have a lot to over come. I wish him the best.
The doctor also said that Anderson has been asking him since day 1 when he will be able to return to training. But his son has also said that he wishes he would retire. I personally think that Anderson will physically be able to compete. I think that mentally he will be able to fight as his mindset seems to be very strong and he understands the risks that are involved in what he does. The more I have thought about it, I think he will get over the fear of the kicks rather quickly. I think the biggest issue will be family. Once he sits down and talks with his family, that may or may not be the deciding factor.
For me, I want to see him come back and fight again. I don't think we have closure with him and Weidman and I STILL think Anderson is the better fighter. I saw Weidman's demeanor change in the 2nd round of the first fight before the KO. I saw the doubt in his takedowns once Anderson stuffed one or two. And of course the second fight was obvious. I think he has nothing to lose if he comes back really but a lot to gain with a win over Weidman. The problem is, how many fights would he be willing to fight? He won't get a rematch and chances are (in my opinion) Weidman won't be champ when Anderson comes back anyway.
I'm behind him....bring it back!
And one reason I have changed my mind is reading about Anderson's eagerness to train again. Also, Roy Jones has now moved from a fight with Anderson to calling out Nick Diaz.
What I saw was someone who is very dangerous to Silva. He took him down and dropped his ass. I feel like Weidman has his number. I'm sure Anderson can beat him but it goes both ways. Can't wait to see Weidman fight Belfort.
Silva has had an amazing career and is incredibly talented. In the end I think he will come back and I can't wait.
hez donezo
I would like to see him come back and win one more fight gain the title back and then retire.
