Re: AR-15 fun at the range
Do you like ar's i've never got to shoot one i have a romainian ak and i love it
Re: AR-15 fun at the range
Nice! I had the sks out yesterday as well. I had it set up at 25 yards teaching my brother to shoot and he kept getting mad because I was shooting the toothpicks that were holding up his target lol
Re: AR-15 fun at the range
The ar, ak, and sks are awesome rifles
Re: AR-15 fun at the range
Nice! I got an email last Wednesday that this vendor finally had some PMags in stock. I ordered 2 for the AR at 12.00/ea and they got to my house on Saturday! I was pretty impressed. Now I just have to buy me some ammo to fill them...
Speaking of that...my DPMS will shoot 5.56 as well as 223 but the 5.56 seems to be quite a bit cheaper. Is it a comparable load? I'll mainly just be plinking around.

ARs will fire .223 and only some will fire both .223 and 5.56. make sure yours will handle the 5.56 before shooting it. if it does then there is little diff other than the brass is thicker on the 5.56 as it is a military round and the volume of area in the brass is smaller creating higher pressure.
i have seen magpuls for $10 on CDDN on sale. $12 is a good price as well. most places have 5.56 in stock but i used to get a box of 20 for $5 now they are double that. look for bulk deals of 500 or 1000. you can find them on sale and the price should come down as long as there is no more gun grabbing trys.
i like AK and SKS rifles but the fit and finish of an AR is just better. that being said you can dunk an AK in sand and cow poop and it will fire without fail. the trade off is accuracy at distance. but an AK or SKS is not really meant for that.
i want a WASR AK47 real bad

Mine has 5.56 stamped on the barrel and from what I've read in the manual, that means it will fire both. Yeah, I was buying some .223 at walmart a while back and noticed the 5.56 was half the price. I didn't pick it up because I wanted to make sure I could use it.
Re: AR-15 fun at the range
WOW! HES GOT A NICE COLLECTION!
Re: AR-15 fun at the range
That is what mine is a wasr ak. It's not tricked out or anything, I do have a dot scope and extra mags for it including a 75 round drum.

for the $$$ I think they are the best. there are alot of upgrades but none are necessary
yeah my boddy has more AR15s. he has a AR15 300 Blackout with a night sight he hunts hogs with. it is equivalent to the 7.62X39 on the AK/SKS and can use the same mags, same bolt and carrier as the 5.56 the only thing diff is the barrel. so you get at 150+ grain bullet as opposed to the wee little 55-65 5.56
we did not shoot it as it is expensive but the way he talked about some of the specialty rounds makes me want a blackout upper. you can shoot giant 240 gr sub sonic rounds that are no louder than a .45acp i am told
