Extreme cramping in abdominals
So this is not an injury per say, but it has been a nagging me for approximately 8 months and is progressively getting worse. It seems every time, and I do mean every time, I work my core my abs get debilitating cramps which prevent me from completing my desired routine. I work my core twice a week and it comes usually anywhere between the 3-4 set. I do not use weighted resistance, however I will incorporate an incline on occasion.
(medical background: I under went open surgery for a couple hernia repairs middle of the year. The abdominal cramping has been an issue both pre and post op.)
Any one else experience this? If so how did you correct the problem? Any outside thoughts on how to overcome this issue are also welcomed.
Re: Extreme cramping in abdominals
I've been getting that lately also. It's starts as a shudder and then a full blown full an Charlie horse. The first time it happened I almost screamed out. I couldn't move until it stopped.
I've been trying to make sure I'm getting adequate nutrition and hydration to combat it. Bananas and fruit seems to help.
Re: Extreme cramping in abdominals
I've had abdominal surgeries as well, i haven't ever had cramps tho. I still have to take it easy on the ab workouts just because im paranoid of getting another injury.
Re: Extreme cramping in abdominals
