I agree 100%. It seems like Christmas has become a holiday for corporate greed. Long lines, big crowds, horrible traffic, angry and stressed out people. Sad.
Ya, lets get it over with. Its a great holiday for kids, but you get older and it can be a freakin inconvenience. lol
Shows the lack of gratitude by people and how ungrateful they are.
I don't want any gifts, just a nice dinner with family and friends.
People have forgotten the true meaning of Christmas Day!!! Don't know if any of you go to church but if you go xmas day or xmas eve, it really can help keep you from losing all the spirit of this holiday
I hate the rat race and now its just getting plane stupid...exchanging gift cards! Whatever happened to taking people to dinner? When I was a kid we always went to dinner and someone would always buy? Goes for coffee and anything else...
I tried, being the oldest son, to implement a no gifts for adults just the kids. For three years stuck to my guns even though dam family didn't follow. Throwing in the towel this year I think...
I just want dinner, sports, relax time, etc
You had me at dinner.
I remember back in the day, Christmas was a time for family, celebrating, and just relaxing for the holidays. Now it seems like nothing but stress.
I love Christmas time, but it does seem a lot more stressful than it used to be.
Yeah Christmas has veared far away from the original point being the birth of Jesus Christ. Even if you dont celebrate it for that reason it seems thant Christmas has become a time for stress, being broke, and selfish desires. My family and I are trying to get back to the great values it once had.
We were at the store last night and this Jewish family( who had been talking very loud, lol) bought a white Xmas tree and blue garland and called it a Hannukah bush. Some people just want to get in on the fun!
Christmas was a holiday before Christians borrowed it and turned it into Jesus' birthday.
Yule is a great example but there are many others. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yule
It's all just Sun worship in disguise.
Chanukah bush in the house.
Keep in mind Chanukah is probably one of the if not the least important of our holidays. Too often I hear Jews have Chanukah and we have Christmas. Sorry, no comparison.
I say enjoy your Christmas however you see fit, but there better be food :D
i look forward to christmas, i love it. but not for the regular reasons. my son is a highschool student that does not worry about santa. i dont celebrate the holiday for what it is. but it is a great time of year to indulge in copious amounts of food that i feel guilty about eating any other time and beer. lots of beer
decorating for xmas has just become another job im supposed to do. it used to be enjoyable. when no one helps and its just expected it loses its luster so to speak. now i love watching my kids open presents and having great food its just turned into a day that im happy when its over.
Christmas can be a cruel holiday
