new safe, how to bolt it.
i know this probably wont get many if any views but if you do look and have an opinion let me know.sold my gun cabinet and got this for more security
i can bolt it with 3.5"X1/4" lags to two studs in the wall.
i can bolt it to the floor with concrete anchors.
or both.
or neither, it is heavy
whats your opinion?
Re: new safe, how to bolt it.
Anchoring it to the floor is probably as safe a way as any and prevents it falling over just in case. We have a small safe in our closet that is bolted to the floor, its not going anywhere.
Re: new safe, how to bolt it.
I got mine lagged to the studs in the wall cause I have wood floors. I would consider anchors if I had concrete floor

You can put a small body in there

Lag bolts in the floor is the best route.
Re: new safe, how to bolt it.
the big probis my wife letting me cut the carpet so the safe will sit flush on the concrete. i think both would be best but ...........

thats what i said, my wife thinks different although i want a 9mm carbine like a sub2000 or a hi point 995. both have great reviews and are fun to shoot
Re: new safe, how to bolt it.
Super glue it to the floor. Then use some duct tape for a little extra strength.
Re: new safe, how to bolt it.
As big as it is I wouldn't be too worried about it. However, if you are worried then I would definitely anchor it to the floor.
Re: new safe, how to bolt it.
So Jipped Genes- what'd you end up doing with that...did the wife ok the carpet cut, add any new arsenal?
Re: new safe, how to bolt it.
Check and see if the bottom liner of the safe will pull up.Sometimes the bottom of the safe
has been predrilled to allow it to be bolted to the floor.
We use to sell Fort Knox safes, they were predrilled to allow it to be boted to the floor.
If you have decided where it will be placed, you can mark the holes and just cut out the circles
in the carpet to allow access to the floor. Just save the pieces so if ever you move it, you can
ut them back in place on the floor and cover the holes
