Big coyote in the back yard
This guy was right out back..The way he is facing is looking into our back yard..We have a Boston terrier that would make a nice treat for him..wifey is afraid to leave him out unattended.
Coyotes around here test out to be 15% eastern grey wolf..this one seems all of that!

Plenty of missing pet posters on the telephone poles lately..
Might get a crossbow and go straight punisher on the yotes.
Get some payback for all the pain they have caused to familes of missing pets..
Wifey is cool with it..easy sell.

It is a real beautiful one baby..Definitely well fed. I have complete respect for these animals even if they are hunting our pets. . A lot of times coyotes are scrawny but the ones around me are having some sucess..
Even if i went crazy hunting coyotes it wouldnt do much to protect the neighborhood pets..

Yup, total respect for them but he has been green lit by the wife so let the games begin..those things take elusive to a whole new level..its rare they are that healthy looking..he is doing well whatever the hell he is doing..make a nice pelt or mount for the cabin up north.

Re: Big coyote in the back yard
Those coyotes are sneaky and quick. My folks lived out in the country and one of them snagged my mom's little dog early one morning. She let him out to use the bathroom and he never came back. We found him in the field across from their front yard. A lot of guys go out and hunt them in that area, but there's so many of them. If they're around and you've got little pets, keep a close eye out.
Re: Big coyote in the back yard
They are pretty but watch out for them. In my area black cougars are a problem

my old man has a nice medium large one that is stuffed at our cabin. the pelts are awesome when they have really good markings like that one. we have a bob cat stuffed also
Re: Big coyote in the back yard
Wow almost looks like a wolf ! Those trail cams are pretty cool huh ? I set mine up to watch my base camp when I'm away on the trail, I want a license plate and a driver pic in case I get ripped off.
Re: Big coyote in the back yard
That is the biggest healthiest looking coyote I have ever seen! The ones we have around here are about 30-35#, long, thin and scraggly. That does look like part wolf, more than 15% to me. even the color.
Beautiful animal but what a nuisance.

When they have their pups they get bold looking for food...thats when you have to be careful..
It sucks having to keep such a close eye on the dog..lol. especially at night.

Trail cams are cool..scouting then setting up cameras to see whats out there is more fun than hunting itself..never know whats going to stroll by...

I got a few of them just for that. Racoons, pole cats, and even a doe licking the lens. just hope I don't catch somebody creepin' around the house. Thursday I'm going up to my happy place up in the Cascades, I'm hoping to get a Cougar or maybe the elusive Sasquatch.

We have urban bobcats here that live in suburbia. They eat squirrels, cats, small dogs, birds that congregate at bird feeders, opossums, rats and mice. Next time I catch one on my security cam I will post the vid. I got one carrying a huge roof rat one night down the alley.
They are bigger and healthier looking than their forest kin. I guess easier to find food here.
