i did this challenge on incline press today. silly just plain silly
Jonny candito posted a video when he got 100,000 subscribers. He decided to squat 100,000lbs. That comes to 444 reps with 225. He didnt leave the squat rack until he finished it all. I think it took him like 4 hours, maybe 5 i dont remember. He also had to eat like 100 chicken mcnuggets in the process.
Did i mentiom he only ways 180. Try that one.
Holy shit guns, just curious man. Do you have a rough idea where your bench squat and deadlift are? You sound like a monster.
for bench idk i rarely go over 315 to 375 but i rep it, so i would guess i can probably still get around 500 if i really wanted or needed to.
deads i rep 500 still so i would say i can get over between 6-700 and my squat is about the same. i havent done singles in a very very long time but about 6 months or so back i was doing sets of 6 with 500 for deads. i would have to go back and look but i think it was something dumb like 6 or more sets. i am way to heavy to be competitive as a power lifter when i am able to move big numbers and in all honesty i do not think my joints would hold up very long training to hit the numbers you guys do. off the top of my head and probably 15 years ago the last meet i did i went 9 for 9 and i hit 500 on the bench 715 on deads and squatted 700. that was at a body weight of 265 and i only did one meet and completely transitioned over to body building. hell the only reason i even tried the meet was one of my training partners was big time into power lifting and going for a world record bench before he had a surgery done to fix his legs. he never hit the record and i am pretty sure after numerous surgeries where they messed him up bad he doesnt even lift any more
Those are some very impressive numbers man. wow. As a bodybuilder, what kind of rep ranges do you work in? Do you always stay kind of within a certain range, 8-12? Or through different phases do you change the range, to hit kind of like hypertrophy, strength, and power? or is it just like always hypertrophy? Also, how much do you weigh now?
And i'm really sorry to hear about your friend, that's just awful. I couldn't even imagine.
i do a typical periodization with intensity as opposed to rep ranges. we add in bands chains drop sets super sets and all kinds of other crazy stuff along the way. intensity and volume tends to raise and lower over a 12 week program and we get silly with strength and power here and there but tend to lean more toward hypertrophy training only. rep ranges are crazy with singles all the way up to sets of 20-30 and even 50. now with our singles it isnt a traditional single like you guys would do. we would hit a weight that is a tough 4-5 reps and then do singles with a 10 sec rest between each one for sets of 10 or 20. so say for deads you would work up to 375 or 405 to 500 depending on how you are feeling. then you would do a single count to 10 or have your partner running a stop watch then another and so on until you hit the goal number of reps. we will work all the way down to the 3 to 5 rep ranges on occasion as well so i guess you could say we do hit the strength curve a bit.
coming out of my diet i ended it at 238 at just around 4% give or take under or over a tad. now keep in mind i am reverse dieting back out now and i actually dropped 8lbs when i took a week to eat whatever i wanted to (that has never happened before). monday am on a completely empty stomach i was 242 and i am eating at maint right now maybe a touch over with my cheats added in. i just dropped a meal also for a week or two just to give my body a little bit more rest. so around the first as long as i feel good i will go back into lean growing again and jump into new programing. so i should be at 250 easy in a week or 2 at most.
for cardio i only do intervals or prowler work. the prowler will be making a visit back in when the new programing kicks off. right now i am doing 3-5 sessions of intervals for 10 mins pre workout. that's for water control and cardio endurance for the time being
