Oats, berries, and IronMag labs vanilla whey protein, and coffee too!!!
Having coffee while my baby girl has her bottle. Starting back on intermittent fasting today to cut some fluff and only eat between 11am and 7pm. First meal at 11am will be chicken breast, rice and veggies.
What is the benefit of starting your eating at 11?
Kashi Go Lean cereal and eggs
Intermittent fasting is just that, you fast for 16 hours a day and eat for 8. I didn't think it would work, but I have done it in the past with great success. During my 8 hour feeding window, I have 3 very large meals. I really never am hungry in the morning so it fits how my body wants calories. Ghurelin production is decreased so no hunger pangs. I usually get hungry about 10:30am and can really eat as I like. Protein is kept high and carbs are manipulated depending on training requirements. It even has a way for those that train early morning as I do on occasion using BCAA's to prevent catabolism.
So it's basically "the warrior diet" concept? I know quite a few people doing it with good success
Correct, except the Warrior Diet is usually one large feeding at night and you graze on nuts, berries etc during the day.
Here is a great site to read more, Andy is really a good guy and we have had numerous e-mail conversations. RippedBody.jp | Intermittent Fasting guide & Training guide to your dream body.
It is written in Japanese as he lives there but is translated into English. Very simple plan and I have a calorie site that figures your macros depending on goal if anyone wants.
Yeah, I tried it at one point until I started with my new trainer. I was eating berries, bcaa's, etc....during the day and then basically eating what I wanted for the 8 hour window. I've read about the IF and how it compares to the Warrior Diet. I would actually like that setup but I will do what my trainer has for me now.
Depending on time of day I train I will have a PWO shake. Here is what Andy recommends and what I have done with success.
Training at 7am as I do at times, I have 10g BCAA's before leaving for the gym and sip on 10g in water while training. I come home and at 11am will slam 75g of whey and 100g of dextrose and have a meal an hour later. I count the protein and carbs from the shake in my macros but not as a meal. My meals this day will be smaller as such.
Training at 2pm, I eat a meal at 11am and during training I will sip on 10g BCAA's. Immediately Post workout I have my shake as above. Again, I count it in the macros but not as a meal. Then before 7pm I will have 2 more meals. I'm eating about 3500-3600 calories a day on training days and condensing that into 3 meals gives me quite a bit of food rather then 6-7 small meals.
Well now there's only four things on the menu right now. Protein shakes, chicken breast, green beans, tilapia. I guess my shopping list is very simple.
Here's a shot this morning with just a little bit of water restriction. I got to the shop and decided to snap a few. 11 days and counting.
