Borderline aneurysmal dilation of the ascending aorta
Had a heart CT scan to assess plaque buildup....good news is calcium buildup was near zero in all 4 measured arteries.
The bad news, the radiologist note says Borderline aneurysmal dilatation of the ascending aorta measuring 4 cm in diameter.?
Headed to the cardiothoracic specialist this week to evaluate further....really not going to freak out til I hear from him.
Anyone familiar with the condition? Reading on the Web suggests 5cm is the danger zone but suggestions at 4 are not lifting heavy weights and no strenuous cardio.....I play soccer 2 games/week and lift 3 to 4 days/week so this doesn't fit my lifestyle

Re: Borderline aneurysmal dilation of the ascending aorta
After an echo cardio gram and a CT scan with contrast die to clearly see my heart, my aorta is a normal size with no defects. I also have very healthy valves and chambers. I haven't seen the bill yet......seems like a good way to generate business for the hospital

that's awesome that you are good man. one of the old docs i used to see sold his practice and we went there a few times after. then i found out that they were telling numerous people their kidneys were messed up and running tons of expensive tests on them when their was nothing wrong with them at all. no big deal if it was one or two people but they were doing it to dozens. so your case doesnt surprise me one bit at all
