Underwater with David Blaine
Underwater with David Blaine
He's been buried alive, spent nearly three days trapped in a block of ice and survived a 44-day fast while locked in a box suspended over the Thames River in London. Now, DAVID BLAINE is about to take on his biggest challenge yet!
Starting today, David will submerse himself in a "human aquarium" outside of New York's famed Lincoln Center and attempt to spend seven days underwater.
While he will be equipped with a life support system, the feat is no less death-defying, as David runs the risk of possible hypothermia and nerve damage.
But wait, there's more! After the seven days are up, David will then remove his breathing apparatus and try to hold his breath underwater longer than any other human being! (The current record is eight minutes, 58 seconds). It's all part of his new ABC special -- "David Blaine: Drowned Alive" -- airing live on May 8.
The two-hour program also chronicles David's grueling regimen in preparation for the big event as well as showing the 33-year-old performing a number of his up-close-and-personal illusions similar to the ones that first got him noticed during his ABC debut special "David Blaine: Street Magic" back in 1997.

Re: Underwater with David Blaine
AS CHRIS ROCK SAID....HAVE WE FALLEN FOR A TRICKLESS MAGICIAN???
Re: Underwater with David Blaine
Man, that guy has some of the best tricks. Have you seen his street magic? It's crazy as hell. There's one where he stops this guy outside a jewelry store and starts talking to him. He asks the guy what time it is and the guy's watch is missing. Then, he tells the guy to look throught eh window of the jewelry store and his watch is on one of the displays.
There's another one where he does this card trick and this girl picks a card. Then he shuffles the cards and does his thing. Now, the entire time, he is on one side of the table and the girl is on the other side. After he goes through the whole deck he tells the girl to check her back pocket. Sure enough, it's there. Yet, the entire time not one single person walks by the girl nor does he or the girl get out of their seats.

Yep, his street magic is awesome. He even went to the Dallas Cowboys locker room one time and had all those guys freaked out. However, he makes a bigger deal out of his other stuff which really doesn't impress me at all.
