Anyone do this? I have seen threads about it before and would like some feedback? I did it the other day and it kicked my ass. I liked it cause it felt like a great workout in a short time. Not sure if I can tolerate it often but it made me sweat and thats what I like

I have done this baby1 and still do!
6p6, it's a 20 second on...10 sec off style workout with max effort for the 20 seconds. It usually involves body weight exercises. Last one I did was...
4 minutes of each excercise for reps. 20 sec on...10 sec rest
      Push ups
      Sit ups
      Pull-ups.
      12 minutes of pure hell

            Re: Tabata training

I work out with a trainer for conditioning and she has me do this tabata stuff sometimes. Really gets the heart rate up. One combination was with a great big rope: Hold one end in each hand while standing with knees bent and sort of "crouched"; 'athletic stance'. Work the rope up and down, both hands, slapping the rope HARD on the floor for 20 seconds. Move to the next station while 'resting' for 10 seconds. Now grab a pair of dumbbells in front of a tall box and step up; once both feet are on the box step down and then repeat, leading with the other foot. Do that rapidly for 20 sec. Then move to the half-ball thing... what's that called, bosu ball or something? Lie on your back with arms and legs outstretched wide, so you look like an "X". Now, keeping arms and legs stiff, touch right toe to left fingertips; then left toe to right fingertips. Do that for 20 sec.

Then, move to the power rack, where there are "rings" - like gymnast rings on ropes. Hands go in those; feet out behind you and you do a sort of pushup for 20 seconds. Then start all over.

            Did this for 20 minutes.

            I was GASPING for breath!

            She has other combinations, too:

            5 reps each:

Deadlift; chinups; dumbbell presses but lying on the floor, not the bench. However much time remains out of a minute is your rest.

I could go on... the combinations are endless!

            Again 5 reps each:

Deadlift; chinups; box jumps; crunches. Rest for what's left of a minute. Repeat.

I think she jas me do this shit just because she likes to see me crawling around on my hands and knees trying to catch my breath! LOL!
